When people say "doing 20 forest hard runs for ______" does that mean from start to boss? the redo and so on?... basiclly I want this:
runs = _________?

A go through the area. A "lap".
Run = one lap through the selected areas.
Or it can mean what areas you did in one game:
"Last night I did a run of Hard Forest and Caves".

Lap means whatever you want it to mean. But if it isn't beating the boss, it is normally specified.

ok, say I want a fire cannon thing from hildebears, can i do that forest of sarrow quest kill all the hildebears, then quit quest if i dun get wut I want then redo the quest again? becasue that quest get a lot of hildebears, etc...
I was also reading excavation reports and they say runs so im confussed right now...

Yes, a run can also mean doing a quest (specify if you are using any quest shortcuts, such as the FoS one).
