Woo, just a list I wrote for fun.
This guide thing tells which rares you can find easily with a certain ID. This should be used in combination with heyf00ls great guides (Ultimate (http://faqs.ign.com/articles/393/393635p1.html), Very Hard (http://faqs.ign.com/articles/401/401972p1.html), Hard (http://faqs.ign.com/articles/497/497901p1.html), Normal (http://faqs.ign.com/articles/497/497901p1.html)).

Ofcourse his guides have all the info this thing has, it's just that this thing makes it easier to see some advantages for each ID; if that's what you're looking for this may be more convenient than his charts.

Edited: All rares are listed now, except the ones for which Section ID's either don't matter, or if it's a tie between four or more ID's.

Last imaginary question: "Should I base my choice on this guide thing, and maybe heyf00l's great guides?"

Last real answer: "No, do whatever -you- want, it'd suck if everyone had the same ID. Plus, it could be a matter of taste. According to what I found, Pinkal is, well, BAD. Even so, I'm perfectly fine with my main character being Pinkal. Even if it's just for the chair color, it fits her outfit. So, no."

* = listed in more than one ID

You're trying way too hard to get a sticky. There are things on this site called "Item Database" and "Item Findings". It is so much easier to look at those then to search the forums... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

Yea I know, but either way there's a lot of people on the forums as well. And I wasn't trying that hard, I just started writing this for myself, then I considered uploading it so the time wouldn't be completely wasted, if I can help anyone with this; that'd be great.

Some people may find this usefull. There are always those people that venture off into the forums and may not know how to find the item database. Even then, as I'm sure you know, the database is very large, so it's nice to have some of the best things each ID finds in one short list.

Tycho - You should add Yasha to the Viridia list.

Grennill gets Guld from an Ultimate Spaceship Delsaber, while Whitill gets it from Ultimate Ruins Gran Sorcerer.

I listed Yasha in Skylyll. It's either 67,216 Viridia Melqueeks, or 28,807 epII Skylyll Indi Belra's. Are You sure viridia would be easier?

Guld... well.. not entirely sure about this one. It's either 28,807 Whitill epI Gran Sorcerors, or 40,330 epII Greenill delsabers. I figured the difference wasn't that big (only 10000 monsters O_o), so I think I listed it in greenill since I thought the delsabers easier to find. Feel free to correct me though, I didn't check all guides to accurately see what's the fastest way to encounter lotsa Gran Sorcerors.

This (http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=1040) is quite similar to what you've listed, except yours also lists items that that particular ID can find the "easiest". It might be better to make a guide showing which ID finds which item easiest, or something...

Also, you can't really say "Skyly is strongest at finding Chain Sawd!"...becuase Skyly is the only ID that finds it. >_>; Same goes for Nei's Claw and Viridia, Bluefull and Imperial Pick, etc.

Well, yeah, point. But the topic title gives a better idea of what this is supposed to do. The idea is, Skylyll is the only ID that can find the Chainsawd. So that'd be a reason to choose Skylyll, so I listed it under Skylyll. This isn't meant as much for questions like "I want item ******, what sec ID should I use since I'm too lazy to find out by myself!", as it is for giving an easy comprehendable overview of what you could consider a reason for choosing a certain section ID.
So, the explanation may have been bad; but this is what I intended the guide for.

I can of think you got this guide all wrong. Not really usefull in my opinion. Maybe you should do it like this:

- Pipeable Rares
- Id Uniques
- Common Finds, give the common finds a grade at each Section ID. eg. Skyly - Flowen's Sword (1) and Withill - Flowen's Sword (2). The example says Skyly can find Flowen's Swords easier.

Not bad, but it only highlights certain items.

And the Agito 1975 should be under Whitill, not Pinkal.
9 Obs > 8 Els
They both have the 1/22 chance.

Greenill should probably get the Yas 2000H too. There just aren't many PanArms in the Spaceship compared to the number of Del-Ds in Temple.

Also, under Yellowboze DB's Sword and Flowen's Swords, you put the word "Real". This is incorrect. These are not the "real" version of the items, only the strongest. How can the "real" version be made after replicas? Please take the word "real" out, and/or change it to "strongest".

Also, you put Chainsawd under Skyly, you should put God/Battle under Redria. This is an item that anyone that uses weapons can benefit from.

Online - govulmer skyly Endless Nightmare 2 1/10runs approx

Yasha
Offline - Melqueek Vird Addictive foods 1/10000runs

I agree with that. You should make a list of every non-common rare, and the best way to get it online and offline. And then if you want, you could combine all the ones that come easiest from each section id and have a better version of the guide you have right now. Also, if it's a tie between 2 section ids, list it for both, instead of for neither.

Demolition Comets are pipeable on various IDs with a 1/2 chance, so I would have to say "No" to putting that as being easiest findable in Redria.

I considered putting the agito under Whitill, but I changed it back to Pinkal (before I posted it). It's true you can pipe more lilies at the same time, but the small difference in piping time, with the rappies you'll get it back bc getting to the piping spot takes a lot less time than going through 1,5 caves levels.

And thank you, I fixed Yasminkov. It's impossible for one person to keep track of all these enemy finding rates, so I'm happy people are helping me fix the mistakes in this. I believe I had listed God/Battle already, there's just a blank line between the weaps and other rares, supposedly to make it easier to read.

I know this highlights only certain rares. With the Flowen's and DB's swords for example, as you noted I only listed the strongest. I listed some more Agito's, since the 1975 isn't even the strongest if you don't make it an Orochiagito. Also, I didn't list any of the ID cards as well, I think people can figure themselves how Bluefull Card is really easy to find on an Oran.

About the real stuff, I'll fix the DB sword. The Flowen one, I'm not sure. I mean, it's the latest year, I see it more as 'after some tries they at last managed to forge a worthy sword', or something like that. Plus, the descriptions seems a bit different. It's the only one in which Flowen is actually mentioned. The guides spell it as 'Furou-en' though. It's a one on one translation from the Japanese version, they should have fixed it.

Yes; that should be done some time. But again, that's not what this guide was intended for.

I'm not sure.. the guide would lose the advantage of being easeir to use if every crap rare would be listed. I mean, take stuff like Invisible Guard for example. It's a wanted rare, and there's only one way to get it. And that way is possible with like 8 out of 10 ID's. So I think that way the guide would get long really fast.

Since I was listing stuff only one, I didn't do demolition comet. I am a pinkal, and I did get a Star Amplifier. I know pinkal can get it, but the point was it's far easier to do Pal Rappies.

You put magic rock "moola" under Redria. I believe that it is easier found from a VH Purplenum Pan Arms. Chance is 1/44 or something like that, and you get like 6 P Arms per Caves run or something like that. I find the odds to be better than a VH Redria Poison Lily.

Youre doing great. I Must say its not an easy thing to do, as all players want different things listed etc.
I did a similar thing with force only items when was defending Pinkal as being the best force section ID.
In my opinion, each and every item is worth listing, as a collector i would like to know where my best chances are, or second best chances are also good. Like with Pinkal Star Amplifier and Oran Star Amplifier.
Oran is easier, but isnt Pinkal also dead easy?
Well i studied the drop charts and know for the most part where to look for.

But i got a few things to say:

This is really debatable. Is this one rare enemy worth going through cave 1? El Rappies are all over Fake in Yellow and its a matter of minutes to reach the piping spot. I would list both, they are both about equal.

Besides, as far as i know, rare enemies are not generated like rares (randomly) but as a part of the map, so maybe enemy number arent as important as assumed.

Again, Redria does not have the easiest Magic Rock: Moola, its just a nice way to hunt it in very hard Addicting Food as there are a few other nice drops.
A few IDs beat it, and again, Magic Rock: Moola is an easy item to come by, if you want the absolute easiest way to get it, list it under Greennill very hard Temple Hildebear, but i would just list a few IDs, they are all pretty easy.

Like i said, the only thing im missing in your guide is the few items people dont consider good, list them, the IDs will look more balanced that way.
And i wouldnt get too nitpicky about all this, you will find out pretty fast that there are some really close drops, that makes the slightly harder drop worth mentioning.

Ketchup345
Jul 25, 2004, 09:38 AM
There are also many Obs on the way to the piping spot in the Caves. This is personal opinion. Maybe put the Agito under both?

THERE IS NO REAL FLOWEN'S OR DB'S SWORDS! The only "real" Flowen's sword is the Dark Flow that drops after you beat Olga Flow and starts to fade away. These are all replicas.

I would say take Magic Rock: Moola off the list or put it under every ID that finds it. There is too much debate on which is the best way, and too many IDs find it easily. There is the many enemies fast way (Redria Poison Lilies), or few enemies but drop rate (Purplenum and Bluefull PanArms and Greenill Hildebears). This item is all a matter of opinion.

Average? The average person will never find it, only the lucky few (like me, and I got it from a Melqueek). Playing Famitsu over and over would get old quick (trust me, I'm trying to 1/2 TTF a Redria Lavis and it got old 30 levels ago) whereas you can play Ice Spinner with friends and get loads of experience too. Just ignore most of C3 and go staight to the boss. That's over 100 Melqueeks in under 30 minutes and over 100k exp. How can you beat that?

Viridia: Hard mode, Al Rappy inferno bazooka 87.5%

Also, Ultimate, Hildertor Kamui, 1/2 (2nd strongest katana)

(A few hours of piping or 100+ runs?)

My opinion, but I think these are easier choices for those items.

(I know you already changed once, but a 1/2 drop from a rare, or a 1/394 drop from a non rare, but only at 1-3 per run depending on whether you quest or not)

If anything, list in both.

Ok, now I know this may be up to debate, but I say that the Agito 1975 should be under pinkal, not whitill. Here's why:

8 instead of 9 chances per pipe isn't really that big a difference. And obs shoot megid, while rappies.... peck at your shins? (read: safer)

Plus it's WAY faster to get the quest for the rappies, as well as being faster to get to the room where the 8 rappies are.

And to top it all off, once you find a pal rappy in the room with 8, it's fast and easy to go right into the next room and get 2 more chances with 7 each.

So although 9>8 at first glance, you'll actually spend fewer minutes per rare monster with rappy hunting than with lilly hunting, on average just because the setup of the quests, safety of the monsters, and second (and third) chances you get w/ rappies.

--fatty

P.S. I definitely agree with the god/battle under redria. Also, make sure you point out this is an online-only guide. Because if it were offline-only, then Soul Banish would be under a different ID (probably Blueful), so would the Monkey King Bar (Redria instead of Skyly), and probably some other items too that I didn't catch.

@Dyras: Thank you. Done.

@Fatty: Yes, I know it's debatable, and both sides have reasonable arguments. But you could for example use Sacred Clot + Resist Devils against the lilies.
Anyway, I had listed the Agito in both already.

And yes, this guide is intended for people with online acces. And with acces to every quest. Or just use PSO+ for towers, but the majority of people here is online anyways.

Minor update: all weaps up to Katanna's are done.

Done. Every rare is listed now. Again, except for non-ID related stuff and tie-between-at-least-four stuff.

Also, I put a * after rares that have been listed multiple times.

Edit: This time I even checked hard btw. And yellowboze (google toolbar marks the stuff in yellow). So I believe most of it is pretty accurate.

And actually this was the second time I finished it u_u, yesterday the first time I finished IE crashed. I hate you, Windows ME.

Wow, there has been a lot of work put into this and it really shows. Great job Tycho! =) We need to get someone to put this in a guide and/or sticky it, it should be very useful to a lot of people on this site.

Yea, I know. If I'm lucky it'll happen before I get pushed off of the topic list. @_@

I like the direction you've taken your guide in. One suggestion though: How about an Asuka for Whitill (Gol Dragon)? It's no harder to get than is the Pinkal Barba Ray Asuka (sorry Pinkal... looks like you lose again). Also on Pinkal, that Caduceus should really have an * at the end of it. The Pinkal shares that weapon in common with other IDs in nearly identical ways.

Thank you, you're right. I'd prefer the lilies over slimes, but the difference isn't that big anyways. So now it would be a four-shared rare; I'll take Caduceus out.

The Asuka; I was thinking about in the same way as Bluefull gets Holy Ray. But it's true for a 1/6 droprate it doesn't matter that much; I'll make it shared with Whitill, and leave Holy Ray as it is because of the crappy droprate.

Aww, poor Pinkal, it's gonna suck even worse.. =(

I have a suggestion: add all rare weapons, and also colored Barriers and Amplifiers, they are important for technique casting forces.
Some may remember this (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=83534&forum=7&start=15) thread, and maybe also this (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?mode=viewtopic&topic=82040&forum=7&start=45) one, it might help a little if you want some help on force items, because i miss a few in your list to be honest.

Okay, i skimmed through youre guide and came up with the following additions/changes:

Tripolic Shield: Purplenum, Pinkal.
Kasami Bracer: add Purplenum.
Brightness Circle: add Oran.
Suppressed Gun: Bluefull, Redria. (not Greennill)
Red Dagger: Skyly, Viridia. (not Greennill and Purplenum)
Monkey King Bar: just Redria. (not Skyly)
Parts of Egg Blaster: add Oran.
Sacred Guard: Redria.
Madams Umbrella: Pinkal, Viridia, Bluefull, Yellowboze. (its dead easy for all of them)
Book of Hitogata: Bluefull. (not Purplenum)
Anti Android Rifle: add Purplenum.
Twin Psychogun: Purplenum. (not Yellowboze)
Luminious Field: add Pinkal.

Then two minor things: its called Skyly, not Skylyll, and Technical Crozier, not Technical Chrozier. But thats not really of importance, it just somehow disturbed my eye.

Thank you lots, with all the purplenum changes I was surprised you don't have one according to you profile. Too bad you're not playing anymore, you know a hell lot about this.. I've only been only for a month u_u.

I'll look into the barriers and amps when I have time. I still don't list rares tied between at least four, unless more people would want me to.

I changed what you suggested, except one; Book of Hitogata, I think you can't find Morfos THAT much easier.. If you can explain your opinion, I'd love to hear it.

Edit: Hm, I checked the barriers and amps.. It's true Pinkal has the edge in finding amplifiers. But still, most of the amps can be found by something like seven ID's (and there's no droprates, so I'm assuming they're terrible)..
The easiest way of getting them is finding them by accident, or just trading. Are there people who actually hunt these amplifiers?
Maybe I should have the list say Pinkal can find all amplifiers, but other than with Pinkal, I don't really think people are taking attack tech amps into consideration anyway, while choosing an ID.

Dont worry, i had more characters than in my profile. I had access to a Purplenum character, which was only intended for Psycho Wand piping, since Pinkal gets about the rest.

I would list all items somewhere in the list, because A) it makes certain IDs look bad, and B) its more comfortable for people to look up for your list and immediatly see the easiest way to get the rare, eventhough there are a few IDs capable of finding it. Would me something like an item Database with the easiest way to find the rare.

Morfos?... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_confused.gif
No, Book of Hitogata from Bluefull is dropped by Indi Belra in Episode 1 Ruins not Morfos. Therefore, if you have access to Endless Nightmare 4, you can get 28 Indi Belras per run, which is better than the 10 Gran Sorcerers in Docs Secret Plan (Purplenum). It has the disadventage that you need at least two people to open the two-switch door. But its still the fastest way.

Sounomi had the drop rates (although, they were an estimate, since she didnt find the box drop rates in the disc) for the Amplifiers and Barriers.
But as far as i know, PSOW has started to list the drop rates in the database, since Sounomi sent her information to PSOW after closing down Housoka.
Some drop rates are missing, but it might just be me. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_confused.gif
Well i had almost all Merges before my data got corrupt again, but yeah, i was looking for a few of them (the very hard mode ones for example), they are helpful for technique casting forces. I think a Blue Barrier and an Assisst Barrier were missing, but i cant double check.

My bad about the book, I'm not sure what went wrong when I was looking last time. I checked the guides a bit, but they only say the rates from enemies.
And those just suck. Boxes or pd's would probably work better.
I made it say Pinkal could find all amps, and that Yellowboze was good for finding the colored barriers. I don't know what specific place would have best odds, but Yellowboze has the most places to find, so it's easiest for Yellowboze to find one by accident.

In my opinion rares arent the only adventage an ID can have, for example, both Redria and Pinkal have different odds to how good armors and shields are, and how many slots they have, same with Yellowboze and Meseta.
Yellowboze finds an equal amount of weapon classes, while most IDs are specialised. Like Bluefull finds more Partisans and Rods etc.
There have even been discussions about Pinkal having better chances to higher technique disks.

Anyways, Pinkal finds all the Amplifiers and Barriers. Just wanted to clarify that.

Did you PM LollipopLolita for this guide? Its possible that she might want to do something with it...

Yes, the ID differences are complicated.. But I guess people can see for themselves about that, it's about preferences what would be best.
I wouldn't choose Pinkal for the slots, Pinkal can't get great armors, so a 4 slot ult frame is about as good as it gets. For Redria it would be usefull I guess.
I'm not really sure if the Yellowboze meseta rate is an advantage, and as I said again, the most frequent weap drops are have to do only with your personal preference.
I did list the mechguns though; because the good ones are quite wanted.

By the way, all ID's were able to find all barriers I think.

I did PM LollipopLolita. But, she hasn't responded lately; she did in the earlier stages of the guide.

Maybe I should just beg a mod to stickify this in the meanwhile.
