How do you make rare monsters appear more often?

you enter rooms where the normal version of that rare monster of your choice is in often.
either by running through a quest over and over again (fake in yellow) or by piping, when you think you found the right spot.

piping = constant telepiping up to town and down again, to make a normal version of a monster appear as a rare version. only works offline.
