The logic behind my voting "go get it now" is that you can ue your FOnewm to get a second one for online use, should you feel the need... Also, better to get it done now than to have it weigh on your conscience weeks later.

there are more things to take in account actually.

you can either get the soul eater or you play for the ragol ring (online that is).

(at least soul eater is somewhat useful, but the quest for the ragol ring has some interesting storyparts)

you get this choice (either eater or ring) 4 times per chara - this is once per difficulty.

soul eater is a neat weapon but as you said, unless youre also transfering a good pow mag over to your force, you wont be able to use it for a while.

in the end i voted for the later option. but keep in mind that i dont see the ragol ring as something that is worth wasting time for.

do what you want, but the Soul Eater isn't worth it, IMHO.

Tell Sue your name and go for the Ragol Ring and the fun Seat of the Heart Quest with Kireek as a partner.

When you get your new character into ultimate, go get Soul Banish or an s-rank scythe - much better, IMHO.

Unless they've changed stats for characters in BB, FOnewms can't use Soul Banish. And I wouldn't use S-Rank Scythe, too low ATA. XP

Story stuff is cool, but I can't read kana. >_< So I don't know WTF is going on. I will probably still go for a Ragol Ring at some point, if just to see how it looks. I think I'll go ahead and nuke my character.

Well since fonewms can't use soul banish (fomars and fomarls can though) I'd say wait til you can get a Plantain Huge Fan or Srank Scythe. However, if you're offline only then you're stuck with the Eater.

But for a FOnewm, wouldn't you prefer something useful like a Scorcer's cane, a P-wand, a magical piece or even a pair of charge vulcans?

EDIT: Forgot to mention that your arguement about S-Rank Scythe not having enoguh ATA is faulty. Yes, it may not have much ATA (40), but last I checked, that's identical to the Soul Eater http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif (also 40). You can't get percents on either of 'em, so yeaaaaaah... Scythe wins. I still think if hit is your problem, then Fatsia is the way to go.

Soul Eater is godly in Normal and Hard mode, and pretty good even in Vhard. It's kinda pathetic in Ultimate, though with high-level support techs, it might not be such deadweight...
