curious question: seems you piped in the two slime room of addicting food only? if so, that gives me hope. my method for slime hunting is to rush to the two slime room (takes approx. 25 minutes) and then pipe only the two slime room (average time to red slime: 10 minutes) before quitting out and starting over.

Yes i piped here and splitted 2 slimes into 8 with a ????arms (racast has no rabarta) when you find a red slime kill the others and go to the 3 next room there are 2*2slimes to split into 4 and 4; then redo a addicting food.While doing one of those runs a crimson gave me a ashuka, i already had 2 of them but it's still a cool drop.

i'm doing essentially the same thing. i go directly to the two slime room and pipe there, but i never pipe any of the individual slimes. i find that more often than not they take a couple hours to pipe. if i can get a red slime regularly by rushing the two slime room, i'll do it. i'm also using a ??? arms because, like you, i have an android. mine's an RAcaseal. i find that the arms works really, really well for splitting. anyway, congrats once again!

EDIT: i've picked up three asukas and two red slicers. these are weapons i've wanted for a while, so i'm very happy. of course, i'd much rather i get another lavis cannon. last night i hit 70 slimes and in the process i finally saw something i've been dying to see: two red slimes in the same room. so cool! one dropped a knight/power and the other dropped a thief/legs, which was a bummer, but it was awesome to see two rare enemies at once.

BTW, quick but stupid question: piping is just using a TP outside of the room the monsters are in so that they respawn, until they come back as a rare monster right? I'll be pissed if I find I'm doing it wrong.

It's easier for red slimes if you do it inside the room. It gives them less time to kill themselves. Dead slimes drop no items.

You're piping the 2 slime room with an android?? How do you manage to prevent them from dying??

bear with me. this ended up being rather long, and a lot of it may seem obvious. some of these points are equally applicable to fleshies.

when using a droid to split slimes, there are a few things to remember:

- RAs should look for an untekked spread-type weapon, HUs an untekked slicer-class weapon (partisans work as well, but ranged weapons are better IMO). ranged weapons allow you to stand far back so that any slime attacks are directed away from the slime group at a distant point (you). this makes a huge difference in ensuring slime survival.

- everyone knows that a special-special-normal combo with an untekked weapon is great for splitting slimes. but how to keep them from attacking each other? an untekked weapon's special attack causes standing slimes (those slimes that are able to attack) to go into something like a "stun-reel" animation, preventing them from attacking. using an untekked weapon's special in a special-special combo is invaluable in keeping standing slimes stunned while any puddle slimes pop up. this is how i'm able to pipe the two slime room so easily.

(note: if you're using an untekked weapon's special to stun standing slimes, be aware that if you use a special-special-special combo and then immediately start a special-special-normal combo the standing slimes may not retreat. if you notice a standing slime has not retreated and you're not ready to pipe out, immediately use your untekked weapon's special to ensure that the standing slime doesn't threaten any puddle slimes.)

- finally, there's the matter of getting puddle slimes to "stand up". in my experience the best way to get slimes to stand quickly is to follow them when they move and stand near them if they slow or stop. slimes pop up when they're within a few "feet" of a target, so making sure you're near puddle slimes will cause them to stand more rapidly (this takes practice). if you stand on a slime when it slows/stops it will usually remain in puddle form and move off in another direction.

putting all of these points together:

-piping a single slime is a cakewalk. you'll have no trouble getting the single slime to stand. once the single slime is split, it should take a matter of seconds to get both slimes to stand. then, using an untekked spread/slicer, you will easily be able to target and split both standing slimes. pipe out, pipe back in, rinse and repeat.

-piping two slimes is easy, but requires a little more effort. getting the two parent slimes to stand should be easy. split them, and you have four slimes to contend with. this is where it's absolutely essential that you use an untekked weapon's special to stun standing slimes. i find that one or two slimes will almost immediately stand while the remaining slimes slide around on the floor in puddle form. here you must keep the standing slimes stunned with you untekked weapon's special attack while moving around any puddle slimes so that they stand. (this sounds more complicated than it is...with practice this is very easy to manage.) once all four slimes are standing you can make the final split. if you're using an untekked slicer or spread-type weapon you can easily target all four slimes (that is, in most situations...if the slimes are too far apart it can be difficult to use a slicer, but this is exactly why i do not recommend using a partisan). split them and you're ready to pipe out. pipe back in, rinse, repeat.

i find these points useful in slime hunting and following them i've been able to hunt speedily and with great success. i've broken the process down to the most minute details so it may seem complicated. again, practice will benefit you more than anything. pipe a single slime to get a feel for how these points come into play and you'll see that it isn't as complicate as i have made it seem. (sorry! i'm verbose!)
