Before Uncle gives up on PSO, he's gonna give it one more shot here.

Uncle has a Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Router that he had used for quite a while with PSO and his PC. Then suddenly a few weeks ago, PSO just stopped being able to connect.

The port where the GameCube's cable plugs into the router isn't lit up. However, the PC port is lit up, showing that it's working, heh.

Any ideas what Uncle can do? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

hm.. maybe i can help
since the port for gc isn't lit up while the pc is ok, then it means the patch cable or the gc bba is the problem [or both]

test to see if that port lights up when using for the pc?
check see if cable is loose somewhere?
remove the bba & reinsert firmly?
switch to a different patch cable?

Still no luck. Meh, did all the above except for getting a new cable. The current one runs through a wall and up into the ceiling and drops back down into Uncle's room.

He did temporarily have a connection, the router showed all the lights lit up. But when he went to sign on with PSO, he got an error message and came back to see that the lights had gone out again.

However, when Uncle has the modem DIRECTLY connected to the BBA, the connection works fine. Atleast, it did last time he tried...

Tried rebooting the router? they usually have a reset switch on them.

I'm guessing it is a 4 port router?

If so, try connecting the cable to a different port (given there is at least one other free).

If that doesn't work, either play with the direct connection to the modem, or buy another router.
