I have a really nasty piece of spyware by the vendor Begin2Search.com. This little bugger downloads several files onto your desktop. In addition, it will give you an unwanted toolbar in IE. But the most annoying part is that selected words in IE will be highlighted in orange, and clicking them will just redirect you to their site. Neither Spybot nor Ad-Aware can find this spyware and it's really pissing me off. I looked around the net and this is apparently a very new piece of spyware that a lot of people are being infected with.

You guys better be careful, this spyware multiplies within itself and downloads even more icons to your desktop.

And if anyone can help me, the help will be MUCH appreciated.

I don't use IE exactly because of things like that. People should have switched to something like Mozilla along time ago http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif Try running Mozilla Firefox (tabbed browsing is great.)

Sorry I should have posted something more helpful. Try using TOOLBAR COP (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/toolbarcop.html) to get rid of it. Supposedly it works well with getting rid of begin2search.

BTW try using FIREFOX (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/)

yeah, i had that too on my old computer. (thank god for it being win98, so when i found the main folder in my hard drive, i could delete it and be sure it was gone)

any remnants were gone after a reformat, oh well.

If you can isolated the main file, or at least one of the main files, that is causing all this to occur, send it to ad-aware support. It takes them about 2 days to come up with a solution and update the program http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif I've done this on a number of occasions, and it has been successful every time.

I found a program that will remove it temporarily. But I sent info to Spybot and Ad-Aware.

I'm gonna use Firefox until the problem gets resolved.

I figured out that this Begin2Search toolbar reactivated whenever my sister visits Newgrounds. So I'm gonna have to block that site to prevent her from doing anymore damage.

I love Firefox! At first I didn't really like it (and preferred Safari), but now I like it even more! Great browser! ^_^

have you tried HighjackThis? It takes a bit of knowlege to get the most out of (and avoid killing your OS) but it will take care of things adaware and spybot skip.
