merlans/spread needle

i know this has been asked before, but im not at my usual pc and forum search takes ages.

im hunting merlans for a spread needle. is it worth quitting after ruins 2 or should I go on to ruins 3 as well. or maybe a quest would be better....

ive checked out the enemy counts but im still unsure.

what about your personal experience?

nope, depending on your map you meet quite a bunch of merlans in r3.

I got one from a Purplenum Merlan. Took me 25-30 full Ruins runs. (Skipped Falz 75% of the time.) Good luck, once you get it you will love the weapon.

A friend wanted to see my twin brand, then i went to ruins 1 and in the first room the first merlan drooped the spread COOL!

yeh i worked out(using my extreme mathematics http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif) that id take me on average 15 full runs. considering i always go the quicker route, i think adding 2 runs is a good estimate. i also skip falz, i just cant be bothered. im a lv 127 ramarl so i guess its my bes source of exp till i get the damm needle.

I found my Spread Needle 2 days ago off a Greenill Merlan. I was doing Seek My Master runs in search of it. Luckily it only took me around 4-5 runs.

The funny thing was a Merlan dropped a PD first and then later on the same run a Merlan decided to drop that nice Spread.

You'll really enjoy using your Spread Needle once you find it. It's my favorite ranger weapon I have at the moment and is my rangers primary weapon. Just don't expect it to be anywhere as powerfull as it was in DC Ver. 1.

Funny... I found a Spread Needle on V2 about 3 days ago from Indi Belras. It had 35% hit. And I have to say, when th edamn thing actually hits the ennmies, it's quite cool. Of course, I only tested it on Darvants, but hey, any weapon that can clear Ultimate Darvants THAT fast is worth a little respect...


Anyway, the best method is to play until the last room. You can get up to 12 merlans in that one alone, so...
