Spyware

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but anyways...

Will someone please enlighten me on what Spyware is? I beleive my last computer screw up was due to spyware, and I just... don't know what it is o_O

Spyware is software that get installed on your machine, through various methods, and keeps track of your internet viewing habits and such, so that it can be sold to marketing companies, some i have heard also uses your CPU cycles to do work for them. Im not completely sure though, since i have a mac and dont have to worry about this =)

do a search on gggole for Spybot search and destroy, and add aware, both are free programs that can help et rid of spyware from your P.C.
