Oi everybody!

I've never actually Played PSO Online, and I'm thinking about doing so sometime between now and next summer. I'm just wondering what has been done to actually make it worth getting a BBA and paying the monthly fee? Because if not much really has been done, I might just not bother... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

It's worth it. Definitely. If it wasn't there wouldn't be thousands of players online at the same time.

Thats all nice and good, but it doesn't answer my question...

Sega add's new quest now and then, but its slowed down recently. However there are alot of quests you can play with your friends http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

$8.95/mo is alot, but if you really enjoy PSO, you'll think its worth it. I personally imported the JP versions beacuse I wanted the cheaper HL.

Chat? Online quests? Co-op without splitscreen? More of a goal than finishing Ult? Being able to show off to, play with, trade with, and compare with other players? All the stuff and things you can't get and do offline?

Working together with other people, and communicating, is just great. But go see for yourself, you have a free month, and the BBA isn't all THAT expensive.

Edit: JP has a cheaper HL? How much is it? And, can you switch to Eng mode, or can't you understand Word Select? Or did you just learn Japanese?

Ugh, it is worth the fee if you are super hardcore and if you hav never played it online before, I reccommend it. But once you realize that nothing you find is worth anything due to hacking/duping, I would drop this for another game. Or maybe that's just me after playing this game forever...

welcome to psow!
going online is a an investment.. so only those who are serious about pso should do it
there are thing you should know.. so let's get the bad, less shiny news out of the way.. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_mad.gif

-it'll cost ya the 1-time bba & $8.95 monthly to get online - that's obvious

-there are nice people & jerks online, just like on the net or in real life
there are cheaters, dupers & the like online - you can play nice or naughty, it's up to ya

-there is a chance to get fsod & losing all unequipped items
-then there is also a small chance to get corrupted online

now for the better side of things.. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif
-there are many things you can do online that aren't possible offline
meeting new people, chatting, playing w/3 others in full screen >.>

-online only quests & events..
.like a chance to trade in all that useless PDs you've found offline for some goodies in gallon's shop
.play the many retrieval, mop-up & extermination quests
.seasonal quests & event where the elusive easter rappy, hallow rappy & santa rappy can give ya neat items
.unless you have pso+, the online tower quests are the place to fight against del lily, ill gill & epsilon
.there are the im/famous TTF for ep1 & now RT for ep2 for a quick way to go thru all the bosses of the game
.also, in rappy holiday or today's rate, you can try you luck to find the rare TP mat's

-online play
.you get more exp online, but it also mean you have to face toughter foes
.wanna sit on a photon chair of you ID color or dance online? you can!
.if you want a custom wep w/your name on it try online challenge mode!
.ever wonder how strong 4 chained PB's can boost ya? test & find out
.a mil lily spat at ya online w/o a doll? go back to the same room & kill it

just to name a few..

you can use the guides for more info

I think I have done a 2-chain offline, so 4 should be possible too. The second one -did- say two, and the damage and stuff didn't happen until both movies finished. I know the guides say it's not possible off, but... wtf?

Is there any proof it's not possible, or did people actually test it? I'm fairly sure I did it. But then again, noone plays offline multi, so it wouldn't even matter much..

JP PSO HL is 1200/yen every 3 months. EpI&II+ (JP) has an option to change the game completly to English. JP EpIII does not have any option to change the game to english.

Hm.. if it weren't for the fact I'd need to buy a what's-it-called to play non-EU games, it would be pretty cool...

Hey, actually it's a nice chance to get PSO+. And if I need to buy a new one since I'm moving out soon and my younger brother wants it, that'd be even better.. ^ ^;

$8.25 a month ehh? Not too bad at all. Just one question... American or Canadian Prices we're talking here? If American, we're talking $13.20 Cad... Still not TOO bad... Yeah, New quests (that'll be neat, becuase I've done all the others), Events (like the holiday stuff), Playing multiplayer with full screen (makes a smallish tv not too bad http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif), The fact that Section ID doesn't fully matter (because the creator of the game's ID counts right?), and this Go-Go ball I read about in the book (even if it is just a stupid mini game). Plus, when you come to think about it, Sega could just keep releasing new items and say new costumes, or new levels online, that you could download onto a memory card. With one of the 1019 block ones that I have, that'd be a lot of new stuff! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
