You combine Branch of Paku Paku with a Chao Mag.

take the branch of paku paku to the med station after you beat TTF (i think it works right after you beat the caves boss) There is a warp in the corner as you walk in to the med station. go there and it takes you to the large room in ruins that has the pseudo secret pass to the waterfall deal. Stand DIRECTLY in the waterfall with your branch equipped. In a few seconds some gibberish blurbs will pop up...scroll through it and it will turn your branch into a striker of chao.

simple as that.
