Hypothetically...

You're driving down a road on a stormy night alone. You have a very small car, with room for only 1 other passenger. You come across 3 hitchikers they are...

1.) Your best friend whom you've trusted all your life.
2.) An old woman whom you don't know but is in serious danger if she stays out in this storm.
3.) The love of your life. The person whom you would spend eternity with if given the chance.

So what do you do? Who do you pick up?

Worst case scenario, I pick the old lady up first, then come across my best friend and kick out the old lady, and further down the road I come across the love of my life(why the hell are they hitch-hiking?) and kick out my best friend.


But in this scenario, I don't have a "best friend I've known all my life", and I don't have a "love of my life", so I'd prolly help the old lady....to a retirement home so I can get her admitted and then on caseload for therapy, which will in turn make me money.

Priorities? Check.

Let the love of my life drive, while the old lady sits in passenger, have the girl go get a different car, and spend the night with my friend.

OR
Have the old lady in the extra seat, me drive, and tie my friends to the top of the car. If they wanna a ride so badly, theyll have to sit where I say so (lol).

Seriously though, Id problably choose the old lady, drop her off at the closest resting place/hous, then come back for my friend.

2. Worst case scenario. Force them to walk in front of the car, while giving friendly bumper taps to ensure they devote their energies to the "long journey ahead...while I sit back and slurp a nice 7-Eleven slurpee behind the wheel of my "beast".

I take the old lady, find a safe place to drop her off, and then go get April (love of my life), and she can take care of herself while I go back to get my best friend.

Sounds weird, but the way I see it my two friends will survive, and if they understand that the old lady won't they'd want me to take her. But there's gotta be a better way to do it. I got it: I trust my buddy enough to get out and have him drive the old lady to safety while I keep April company. Then my best friend comes back for us with his bigger car or something like that.

When I was first asked this question, I, in my inquesitive nature, asked a counter-question. I wondered if I just happened to be in love with my best friend who happened to be an old lady... hmmm...
