This game looks tight. Looks like NCSX is gonna have enough stock of it to last a year, too. I hope the quality matches the hype, 'cause I'm preordering it.

(For those who don't know, this is something like the sequel to Radiant Silvergun for the Saturn, arguably the best 2D side-scrolling shooter ever made.)

New release date is 9/5/02.

More info, from the Madman's Cafe (http://www.mmcafe.com)

"(Namae No Nai Heya) Treasure Co. has made an official announcement through Softbank Publishing's "Dreamcast Magazine" of their decision to release a DreamCast port of their arcade shooting game, Ikaruga.

Originally created for the Sega Naomi arcade system, Ikaruga is currently 99% complete for port to the Dreamcast. Commented by Treasure president Masahito Maekawa, a "Prototype game" is included as a bonus in the DC port, playable by beating the game without any continues.

Ikaruga for the Sega Dreamcast is scheduled for release in September 5th, priced 6800 Yen."

I found a link to a 4.5 minute video of the gameplay. I'm not understanding how the person playing is not dying; they must be a programmer or something. It's a beautiful game. Here's the link (it's quite large, dial-up users beware):

Yeah, I haven't bought any shooters for the DC yet, so I'm really looking forward to this one. It'll be the first import I've ever had to do, but I don't care.

I still did'nt get the movie for it..I'll have to get that then. Keep an eye out on this game everyone http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

And you spelled it wrong, silly.

If you'll notice in the video, the ship changes from black to white, depending on which enemies it's fighting. You'll notice that it can absorb bullets of the same color. Very interesting! Kind of like the color code scheme that Radiant Silvergun had. I can't wait to get this game.

I downloaded the movie at 7am this morning, and when I went to open it, I noticed it had restarted x_x

It said it could'nt be resumed, and it was just at 100%, so I'm guessing I some how got booted off the server and it reset.

*in valiant stance*
I shall get it tonight!

*goes back to brooding over his Capcom vs SNK*

oh, and I wonder, by "absorb", does it mean you just don't get hurt by the enemies shots, or do they add to your own attack power? I noticed the bar and thought that maybe if you absorbed so much from the enemy, you could use a special attack.

I just downloaded the video, man this game looks sweet. I was a huge fan of Radiant Silvergun (and Treasure), so now I'll have to get this for sure.

One thing though, has anyone here played Silhouette Mirage (another Treasure Game) The whole white/black color scheme in this seems very similar to the attack system in that game, while the points system (kill as many of the same color enemy as you can) is the same as Radiant Silvergun. It looks interesting to say the least

As for the video, that guy is amazing, he really didn't die, as far as I can tell. The rank he got at the end seems to read "S++" Probably like the best possible
