View Full Version : Church March

Today, our church did it's annual march around the neighborhood. And I don't know how much logic exploded when they did this.

1) We march slowly. That alone is annoying to not only me, but for some reason, the people watching. Yeah.

2) We march ON THE STREET. We COULD jsut stay on one side of the street, but nope. We need to take up space. For people in a hurry behind us, I apologize in advance . For people who need to get to the hospital that we must pass with only one entrance, I'm sorry too.

3) We MUST be walking a lot of people up, since it's like 9:30 in the morning on a Sunday. Isn't this like, "Disturbing the Peace?" Isn't #2 and #3 against the law? How did we get the police on our side? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

And now, just general things against my family's take on going to church:

4) Getting ME properly dressed. Ok, eldest brother wears a uniform. I wear, "Neat," clothes. The 2 middle brothers wear whatever they want. What? So when one the middle brothers points out that I don't tuck in my shirt, my dad comments, "Don't worry, he'll dress properly soon enough." Hello? Not only are those 2 wearing whatever they want, they also look like slobs. Thank you http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

5) It takes us about 10 minutes to drive to church. Ok, church starts at 11. So we can leave at 10:50, with maybe a little rush. We could leave 5 minutes earlier so that we wouldn't have to rush so fast. So knowing this... we leave for church at 10:20. My dad ushers us like we're so late, and then we drive super fast to church (And it's mostly his driving that has given me a phobia of car driving @_@). We arrive at about 10:30, and have half an hour to do nothing. I can't even bring my Gameboy. All the other children at church are allowed to bring their GameBoys, draw, make noise and all that during church. Yeah, you could come up with that I'm older than these kids, but then again, I wasn't allowed to do any of those tings since I was like 4. It's more just frustration against the other parents more than my parents there >_>;;;

Anyways, that should be about it. And off topic, I have a bad sunburn across my face and neck, and I feel like crap http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

i don't envy you your relationship with organized religion.

soon, soon, you'll be able to make decisions for yourself. comfort yourself with that fact.

Marchs I remember a famous number of organisations from history that also liked marchs.

Marchs are shit and boring and only offend ppl stop doing them stupid religous and political groups. They should only be for returning heros of sport and other such lame crap.

It's not that I'm against my religion, I just think... well, sometimes, they aren't thinking out what they're doing carefully enough =/

Or maybe I'm the only person at my church who doesn't beleive on pushing my own religion on other people? Anyways... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif
Oh, and my parents views on me. I don't like em either http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

And if it helps, I go to a Salvation Army church. It's not Catholic or Baptist or anything, it does have a name to it, I just can't remember it =3

Yes it is. No use going to church if it doesn't do stuff you like.

If you're not a fan of religious rituals, then God's not gonna send you to hell for that.

God's gonna send that little chinese dude who never kneeled and prayed an "Ave Maria" to hell?

Or is the God that islamic people believe in (Allah) gonna punish me for being completely oblivious to what their religion is all about?

I still have to put up with some of my family's behaviour towards the fact that I'm not very religious.

But it's ok. I understand that they came from an age where everybody did that for the various reasons.

The funny part is that, ask a religious zealot the following question: "A boy is raised by two homosexual men. He becomes convinced that homosexuality is normal, and has absolutely no way of knowing otherwise. Does he still go to hell?" And the zealot will still say yes.

I had something to say about zealots, but then the topic would get locked.

Bart: What if you suffer gangrene, and lose your leg?

Sunday School Teacher: ...ugh... yes Bart the leg will be waiting for you in heaven...

I think PJ is not talking about religion, but rather the poor organization for said march. No need to jump in and religion bashing.

And Kodi, telling him to stop going to the church cuz you don't think it is a good idea is just as bad as forcing him to go. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Poor PJ. I hope your sunburn gets better soon. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
