Why is it i always see forces with katanas??

Some Ppl like to play with items outside of their "recommended" types, and plus katana are popular. I like to play my Fomar with Angry fist, G-Assissans and Eylsion (although I think the Eylsion is meant for a FO.) It gets boring casting spells for hours on end...

Also because one of the Agito models (1980 I think) is the strongest saber type weapon a FOmar/Marl can use

Honestly, that's the only reason to use katanas. They're horribly slow, and they're single-target 3-hit combo melee weapons. Style is the only possible reason to use them, and even then it's stupid.

Sure, you can pwn enemies with Akiko's Frying Pan. But you can pwn them even better with a Soul Banish, Rainbow Baton, or something.

Best weapon in general is either the C-sorc cane, or the Psycho wand, but both of them are crazy rare. Technically, there is not "best" weapon for any class, there is just the most perfered per person. Speed, hits, damage, and number of enemies it hits are all factors. Not to mention bonuses, like one hit kill or lowering tp cost.

For me, thou, a FOmar, my holy grail is one of the weapons I mentioned... The C-sorc cane, or the Psycho wand.

You could right Ian, but when playing in a team of 4, there is no need for a Force to be doing maximum damage; it's more fun to mess around with the more exotic weapons and let the Hucasts and Rangers bear the brunt of the killing IMO (let's hear it for Rappy's Wing yay!).

Solstis is right, if you can't have fun with your character then why bother to play the game. Not everyone plays by the prefer manner Sega infers. It's good to have diversity, that's why certain weapons cross over to other classes.

Uncle used an Agito with his Fomarl because:

A. Red Saber kept being a pain in the ass to find.
B. Gotta love the noise it makes when it hits machines/dark types. That "hollow barrel" sound is annoying. B(
C. Photon got a bit boring.
D. No one else seemed to use it at the time.

This topic has been seriously high-jacked... it wasn't about what weapons are best for FOmar and all that, it was why do FO's use Katanas? We clearly stated that's it's mostly in terms of looks. In my own opinion, Katana's look best on FOmar/marl. Hunters and Rangers got those fancy futuristic clothes that match well with photon looking weapons and stuff. The metal katana's match the dress-like clothes more cauze it kinda looks like ninja/samurai stuff...
