Mericarol --> Merikle?

I beat West Tower today, and on the 9th floor, I died after the 4 mericarol spawn. The one near the front of the floor killed me. When I came back, one of the mericarols changed to a merikle. So, you can telepipe to change the meris to other meri variations?? Or does this only work on certain meri-variations?? Anyone know how this works??

Hmmm... maybe I was seeing things. But I'm pretty sure it was a mericarol, and then when I came back it was a merikle.

West Tower has a couple of Mericarols that have a chance to spawn as Merikle/Mericus instead, if memory serves. At least one, at any rate. There's at least one like that in the BB Lab quest 7-4, as well, as far as I can tell... *shrug*

Yeah, it's one thing most people don't know actually. You can pipe for different meric versions in tower.

Anyone know the chances of a meri-variant changing? Can any meri-variant become any other meri-variant? What are the specifics (if there are any known ones)?

hmm yes, the 3 Meris on 9th floor of WT can be any version, but you cannot pipe online -- just to clear that up >_>
