Ok, as none must of you know, I work at KFC, *have to quit 'cause I'm moving*. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nono.gif

Ok, this is rant is really about my secondary job I have in the Fall: I work at a Haunted Castle. I just threw in the KFC thing so everyone knew I work two jobs. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

This is my third year there, and in the three years I have:

1) Been told I was the best worker there.
2) Been the onlyworker that did his job.
3) Had my pay increased 2 dollars.
4) Been allowed to leave my station at any time I wanted for a refreshment.
5) Allowed to grab and touch the customers in hopes of scareing them better. It's a scout thing so they can't, but I'm not a scout. -_-
6) Been told by hundreds of hunnies that I was cool and received kisses and hugs. Best part of the job. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif
7) Was the only worker to pay 100+$ on buying/making a costume of their own.
http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_cool.gif Almost always the first worker there, and almost always the last to leave.
9) Elbowed 3 times in the nose for scareing them; kicked, punhced, smacked, thrown to the ground, cussed out and yelled at. I scare good.

Of course when those bad things happen...I yell, "Secrurity!" and have them kicked out. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

So anyway, last year I was pulled in and told, "Do your job, just not so well." I told my surporivsors that people came there to get scared. They repeated what they said and sent me back to my post.

Fast forward to present day.

I was told again today, to, "Do my job just not so well." This time I had lost it, because this place is so corny, and NO ONE does their job to scare except me. Costumers think it's a big joke but come through anyway to makeout with his/her boyfriend/girlfriend.

I flipped out and said that I had people tell me, they come now at least 4 times it's open and go to each of the 3 events. 30 bucks for all three.

I was now the reason for people to come, to get the shit scared out of them. My superiors said, that if I didn't start toning my scarying ability down, they would fire me. Honestly, you build this place to have people scared, but when they get here, you don't want me to scare them?

I always do my job, and make sure everyone flipps out a few high school kids cried once http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif There are of course, some moments that are exceptions. For example: One mom came up before her group and told us that she had little kids that were terrified and asked if we could not scare them.

I told her sure, and she went back to her group. My ass hole co-workers did just what she didn't want them to do, which surprised me since they never scare anyone anyway. When the kids came up to me, I said, "Welcome to McDonalds, we're fresh out of Screams today, is there anything else I can do for you?" The kids laughed and said I was funny, the mom...tipped me a five. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I love this job, and I will continue to do it to the best of my ability. If you are gonna fire me, it's your dam loss.

Oh ya, If any of you ever get the chance to work at a Haunted cornfield/castle/cave/forest/house/dungeon or whatever...DO IT! It is a hell of a lot of fun. I encourage you all to do it if you can. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_yes.gif

Well I guess your boss doesn't want you to scare away any customers. It's bad for business after all. It seems weird that your boss would tell you that, given that you work in a huanted house, a place designed to scare people. But that's the business world, your boss is looking out for his own best interest.

http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_yes.gif exactly right

You're scaring away the customers! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif But with this job you're supposed to http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif Given the situation, don't so zealous in scaring people if your job is on the line - try to find a balance between the fun you're having and your job secuirty.

Damn, I'm a little slow right now.

I thought most of those reasons there were for KFC... Then when you said 'scare'. I was like, "WTF is going on at your KFC?" But haha, it's for the Haunted House type thing. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Hmm, well I'd say just do what you are doing. If they fire you(and what you said is true), they'll probably see the effects of it soon.

If they fire you, you should swing by and see how 'scary' it is. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Yea, I was under the same impression when I read the first post. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

I used to work at a Taco Bell/KFC and remembered Halloween night 2003. It was my first night working and they tried soooooo hard to get me to stand out on the street dressed in a giant taco costume and scare little children. In retrospect, I suppose I should have seized the opportunity, but we were extremely busy that night. Yea... KFC sucks.... a lot. Wish I could have scared customers away on purpose! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

You should work the security there instead then!
You'll get to do the beating up!
You'll scare everybody!

The thing with the getting beat up and thrown to the ground thing. Priceless! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

I went to one of these things many a year ago, and some guy came up walking behind me and fronted me and he was 'too close.' I wanted to hit him, but knew he was just doing his job. He didn't say anything either; I first assumed he was someone I knew then it was weird when he didn't say anything. Haha.

This other guy walked in front of people with a clicking machine object thingy and a mask and laughed when it made people jump.

I heard someone say how fun it was to work in these places, solely for in his words, "...getting smacked on the ass by a milf."
Great. I never use that word-"milf" and don't plan on doing so, but I was glad to hear he had fun working in such a place.

Um... Who builds a KFC to scare away the clients?

Are you a security officer? Maybe I misunderstood.

[sidetracks a bit]

Meh. It seems that Halloween as we know it is all but a thing of the past, as many people are banding together, trying to "tone it down", or in some cases, discard it altogether (anyone have a school in your area that celebrates "Harvest Festival" or some such utter lame crap instead of Halloween?)...

Gimme a costume and some candy, and I'm all right. Unless they sanction a cosplay holiday, Halloween's all that freaks like me have.

If I worked at a place like that, I'd scare myself.

Wanna tone it down? Use your ubar Red Ranger Costume. =B

Got it.

I still remember when that big fat KFC chicken fell down the stairs from the second floor, and scared all the kids away.

I almost spit french fries through my nostrils with that much laughter.

Just a little side note. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_nono.gif That's uh...too much info. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

@ Grey: My red ranger costume? http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_confused.gif That has seen its day...this Haunted Castle job is hard work, *We get rained on a whole lot and shovel gravel landscape etc, etc.*

My ranger costume wouldn't stand a chance. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif not a bad idea though.

I want to see a video of that. Your fries coming through your nose, that is.

On topic: I DO think you have the coolest job, ever!
I am sorry they are idiotic. I bet IF they fire you people will start complaining and they will beg for you to come back.
