it is random. i was wondering at 1st too because the 1st 2 mags i picked up in the Mine when i got plus were both the same creme color.

At least on US (non plus), all mags found in Mines were Gray. :/

My info comes mainly from Eu ver of GC and Dc. Am sure mags aint set on those versions. Oh well thanks for clearing it up for me anyway.
