I've finally returned to PSO. After a year of retirement, I played it again. But, after about 25 runs through random places, I failed to see anything RED. I'm going through a depression. I MUST SEE RED AGAIN!!!

Anyhow, to turn this into a topic, how long have you gone without seeing the RED?

Wow, sounds like you're having some tough luck. I've not had it quite that bad, but I know what you mean about those "dry spells" with the reds.

How long are you keeping with each run, and what are you doing? I'm surprised you've not found anything. Hang in there though.

dont even ASK me about luck...i went for...hmm...2-5 months without seeing a rare. i finally got my luck back and i am seeing at least a few rares a run...including my shiny new chain sawd http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Ahh, I remember my chainsawd. And red sword. And red handgun (:D). That was my luckiest day ever! I remember it like yesterday...*flashbask in progess*

I woke up after another night without a rare in the caves. Dissapointed but persistent, I pushed on. I had a soccer game that day, so I took my GC and played on the way up. I was walking through, not expecting to get anything. Oh look, another Vulmer. Come here and let me show you my Dragon Slayer! HAAAAAA!!! Hey now, what's this? OMG OMG OMG!!!! YES!!!! OH BABY, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!? Yes, there it was, my Chainsawd. Oh what a beautiful start to a day.

Well, we lost the game, but I still got my Chainsawd! Let me go try it out...Hmmm? Oh, hello there Mr. Govulmer. Having a good day? Good, cause it's about to GO TO HELL!!!! HAAAAAAA!!! Don't ever talk to me again you son of a...hey now, what's this? No way. It couldn't be...IT IS!!! OMG OMG OMG!!! 2 RARES IN ONE DAY!!! THIS IS THE GREATEST DAY EVER!!! Ah yes, my Red Sword. So sweet.

Well, we got home, and were going to the lake later, so I decided to look for the Red Handgun to match my Red Sword. After going through many quests, I finally got to Soul of a Blacksmith. I'm Greennil, so let me quote some facts. There are 24 Tallows in Soul of a Blacksmith. 23 Tallows in Forest 2, 1 in Forest 1. Guess where I found it? If you said Forest 2, your WRONG!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Seriously, the first Tallow I killed in that quest dropped the oh so sacred Red Handgun.

Still though, I must break this loop. Otherwise I may lose interest in PSO again...

I saw red the first time in Forest 2 and it was an add slot, btw its PSO+. First time with Hard dragon got aMusachi (sp?)

I was on a drought of sorts as well. Well, more like a "good rare" drought. As everything i ever seem to find I and everyone else have tons of. Storm wands, gae bolgs, ect. Heck, even stuff that i think is super awesome like stag cutleries (plural?) are not worth trading for most. Then, just tonight, as i was doing a vh seabed run to kill time to mag farm, and i find a spirit garment!! (they ARE rare still arent they?) "A watched pot never boils", so if you keep worrying about seeing rares, itll feel like 4ever till one shows.

Thats the BEST THING I've heard all day...its not until you stop worring and just start playing to have fun, that the rares start droping like out of date cloths

Or you could 'force' your red box to drop by taking the best odds to find one.

Any ID, vhard temple, famitsu2, theres the hildebear room with a lot of Hidebears.

LOL, so true. The best things pop up at the least expected time. My little day I posted above was like that. I wasn't looking for the chainsawd, just trying to get to the end of caves and forest. And what do you know? Maybe that's the secret to rares...

yes, it's been awhile since I saw a good RED, I have seen RED photon drops but they don't count IMO because i'm offline.... maybe if I stopped doing WT runs and went back to seabed or ruins then maybe......

Hmm, what is this? Its kinda like a double saber, but blunt? *Swings* HOLY! This thing is huge. (Turned out to be Demolition Comet, very much better than Twin Brand). Ok must try it out. Eat death Crimson Assasin! Whoa, another red....WHAAA! Red Yamatos!!! (Turned out to be Asuka).

This happened over a year ago. Those two kept me occupied for a while. I want to be wow-ed like I was when that happened.

I, too, wish I could get wowed by finding rares. But I find them so few and far between, it's kind of hard.
