Ya I know I'm a retard cos I thought you could exceed MAX stats w/ materials. HOWEVER, can you surpass it w/ units? Thanx

No you can't. Only special items (like the red ring) let you do that.

Edit: Why do you think they're called.... MAX STATS???

Aha. Thankyou http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smilejap.gif

EDIT:Special items? do you mean hacked items(since rr is not available)?

Some items that allow above max are legitimate:
Kasami Bracer and D-Parts 1.01 (both give 35? to ATP)
S-Parts 2.01 (gives to ATA)

Possibly others.

Any armor...will bring your stats above max, thats what happenes when you equip a frame when you have max def, its raising def above its max...Some armors just increase other stats, like atp, ata.

When you look at your stats, do you see how there are numbers inside parentheses? Good. Those are your "base stats" These are increased by leveling up, using materials, equiping mags, and equiping units. After these stats reach a certain point, they will stop growing. Weapons, armors, and shields effect the stats outside of the parentheses. These stats are your base stats + your weapon, armor and shield strengths. Any stats gained from a weapon, armor, or shield, even the ones not normally associeted with that item's class (e.g. Heart of Poumn's everything boost or S parts' ATA boost), are added to your total stats.

By the way, using words like "retarded" as an insult is against forum rules. There's a link in my sig. You should click it. . . and then read the page it takes you to of course.

I was referring to myself but I wont say it any more http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif anyway, I did know the part about which side was the base stat and which side was the stat w/ weapon. But thanx for the part about the armor raising it, my Bluefull has been given more purpose besides teh Soul Banish!! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_ak.gif

Also, I already read the forum rules and I didnt know that applied to insulting yourself too.

Whether you're refferring to yourself or not, using terms like that in a derogotory fashion implies that there is something wrong with being retarded or gay or jewish or whatever. The point is, it offends people, be careful.

You won't be able to max your stats untill you are at level 200 (or dangerously close) anyway. Most shields that have extra stat boosts are pretty crappy IIRC. I would go for something with high EVP or DFP and not an ATA or ATP boost.

Unless you are planing on meeleing with your FOmar in seabed and are planning to hit every time http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif but yeah go for defence and evp. Much better than a a few ata points that only work on androids. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

If you have managed to max a stat with the help of not only Materials but also with units and a mag the Stat you've managed to max will still be raised but at cost of your mag and units that will give you more than PSO allows you to and you could therefore give your mag other stats extra, it would just be a waste if your mag lvls would not be used.

Wow that's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard said here. 15 ATA that doesn't count towards your base is fucking awesome. Beyond a certain point, I couldn't give a shit about the DFP or EVP on a shield, because my base will be so high anyway http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif. The ATP boost on a Kasami does almost nothing, but the 15 ATA on S-Parts is a shitload, not a 'few point's http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif. It's clearly the best shield for androids. It makes a big difference even WITH max ATA in places like seabeds, but you probably use 100% hit hacked gear to come up with crap like that http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif.

If you're not an android then I say grab yourself a Flowen's Shield. Nobody wears it and it looks fucking secksi. The Standstill Shield is just an ugly concrete paving slab. The high DFP does not make up for its ugliness http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif. The Attribute Wall has nice overall resists, especially for Dark Falz (30 ice resist can save your butt). Also the Delsaber's Shield offers a nice chunk of EDK which has saved me from Megid many times.

Forces cannot equip Shield of Delsaber, use Light Relief instead as it aslo adds 25 EDK.

Err, no. It's a fact that 15 ATA makes a big difference to accuracy, especially in areas like the Seabeds (and especially to that HUcast of yours, *cough*). It's also a fact that 35 ATP adds about roughly 5-10 damage, which is pretty much useless unless you want to equip a weapon a few levels earlier. Hang on, you need a bucketload of levels to equip the Kasami Bracer in the first place, so there goes that reason out of the window http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif.

Ok so me saying it's the best shield in the game is an opinion (wow, two points to you Sherlock). Now why isn't it? At high levels defense on a shield does not matter at all. ATA will always matter, however.

Anyway you're totally missing the freakin point. I'm only saying this to point out to people that don't udnerstand that 15 ATA is a lot more worthwhile than a bit of extra defense, which androids have a shitload of anyway.

At least say something useful if you're gonna reply http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif. Most of the people here already know what a fucking opinion is and how to spot one, thank you. Even if it is an opinion, what's your damn point?

In my experience, 15 ATA makes a small difference to accuracy, however a huge difference to ATA requirement. I have a HUmar with 134 ATA and I'm dying to equip that inferno bazooka. Also, you are all missing the freaking point. Go back and look at my question(which by the way was already answered) and you'll see what I mean.

Excuse me, but what are you on, and where can I get some? I agree with the ATA req. bit, but the accuracy thing I don't agree with. My HUcast has been soloing East Tower for quite some time now, and because I miss so much agianst those #$%^ing Ill Gills and Del Lillies, I equipped a God/Arm over my Elf/Arm++ he was using. THAT made a big diffrence in how often I hit. That's just a mere 6 ATA diffrence. 15 more ATA is over double that. So yea, 15 ATA does make quite a diffrence

S-Parts v2.01 increases your effective ATA, so it won't change anything for ATA requirement.

And to make it clear, 15 ATA changes things A LOT. Especially since it will add over your max.

DezoPenguin
Oct 9, 2004, 09:17 AM
Similarly, Kasami Bracer's ATP wouldn't help you equip weapons. Those things are determined by what's inside the brackets.

And yes, 15 ATA rocks. My HUnewearl would kill for another 15 ATA. Saying S-Parts is the "best android shield in the game" is going a little far, though, because equipment is largely situational. Very rarely is anything "the best" because you can always find yourself in a situation where something else would do better.

(eg. Shield of Delsaber/Light Relief in Temple and Gal De Val...maybe Caves. S-Parts if you're not hitting. Attribute Wall if you need elemental resistances, Standstill/Tripolic if you need to pack in the DFP, and whatever your little heart desires if you're going for aesthetics)
