Ah, VGCats. Pure comedy gold.

Well least your not stuck with Europes equivalent, Games Network. Started off as a great channel, showcasing Games, Game Music Videos, their own MMORPG and other kick ass stuff. They had some brilliant E3 coverage 2 years ago.

Now were lucky if they get any programming at all in between Psychic Chat, some horrible tv based games (pictionary rip offs and such) or Babecast (embaressing soft core porn which seems to be swarming with Foot Fetihists texting in to the show ask for the ladies to suck their own toes).

Leo's next book shouldnt be about computer issues. It should be about the evil of greedy dumbfarks.

Hell at least yours has pr0n. Let's see G4 has never even started out well(IMO). Only a few shows I did like on it. Acctually only one and that was Pulse. I liked them ever since they covered the ROWC. Something I couldn't get to. All the rest is shit. Pure shit...shit on a shit stick.

Wow I have hit elementary level. You guys can leave now.

They canceled Unscrewed? What the hell for.. they're still playing re-runs of it in my area as if it's one of their marquis shows. It's featured in the "G-Spot" block which they advertise about every 20 fucking minuites.

With people like Tommy Tallarico around though, I can't say I'm surprised. Granted now, while I hate Adam Sessler with a passion, I can at least respect his objective view on games. He does recognize quality, and is (thankfully) very brutal in berating the titles which deserve it. Even though I don't like him.. I can at least respect him as a gamer.

That simply isn't the case with Tommy Tallarico. He is the epitomy of the casual gamer. The kind of gamer who wouldn't even be watching G4TV to begin with. He'd fit it much better on SpikeTV's VideoGame awards show, than he does in a serious discussion about games. How can you respect someone gives "The Guy Game" and "Leisure Suit Larry: MCL" scores around 8 to 9 - and yet rates treasures like Ikaruga and WarioWare in the low 4's or so. I can understand playing a game, and just not liking it. Hell, I didn't like Animal Crossing. However, I do recognize it as a very innovative title which brings new gameplay elements to the market - which both invigorates and expands our perception of what games can (and should) be.

Everything seems dumbed down to your average collage-aged beer drinking jock burnout who'd rather see polygonal titties bouncing rather than innovation.

To paraphrase Penny Arcade...

Well, uh... not that I disagree with you...

But to be fair, you're not actually "paraphrasing" in this situation.

Whoa Dustin, get on aim you noob. Games and Television don't mix anyway, too many biased opinions flying around to get a balanced audience.

Just wait for the Spike TV Video Game Awards... then you will see a lot of ranting/complaining. Typically because these critics don't include all games and such.

Losers.

Luis...my internet was out for like the whole weekend(I got it up though). I'll download AIM here in school though.

Yea just heard that in January they are going to become just G4 and drop TechTV.

I wouldn't necessarily claim that all G4TechTV is bad, but I would attest to the fact that a lot of it's programming is doing the dedicated gaming community a disservice. Shows like Judgement Day and Players really misrepresent the whole gaming experience, while occupying air time with insignificance.

I'll never understand why so many people are fascinated about what celebrities do in their leisure time, and why an Entrepreneur like Talarico -that has only a casual interest in gaming- would ever be taken seriously with videogame reviews.

Although I see why some many people have been frustrated with the merge, it pisses me off to read the bashing that is not all justified. Granted the utterly useless shows like Cheat!, Portal, Players, Hi Score, and Judgement Day should be hastily removed from the broadcasting lineup, but some of the other shows (like Icons, Cinematech, and G4Tv.com) are pretty informative and relevant.

I was actually excited about the merge (since I liked both), but how they organized it has been admitedly sloppy and poor.

Agreed, there are some shows on G4 that I like. Icons definately being one of them. Icons airings are too far and few between. Generally they've have one episode per week (which is a re-run) that plays all week long. G4TV.com is nice, but it seems to play even less than Icons does.

In total, there were a helluva lot more shows on TechTV that I liked better than G4. AudioPhiles, ScreenSavers (With Pat and Leo, not this new "ConsoleSavers" crap), FreshGear, and such.

I can't really blame just G4 for this though. Alot of cable channels are doing this as well. Discovery has crap like home design shows, American Chopper, Junkyard Wars, ect. History Channel is more or less like the "WWII" channel anymore. Does MTV even play videos anymore? I know they made MTV2 to focus mainly on videos, but anymore it's focused mainly on re-runs of the Real World.

Oh well.. thank god for Comedy Central at least.

How could you be mad Unscrewed was cancelled (I didn't even know it was)?

Martin Sargent pissed me off just as much as Tommy does.

...And fucking pulse? With the dude who looks like he belonged in 30-year-olds'-boyband with the lisp?

I guess when you put it into perspective, G4 doesn't have to many great features.

I watch it for:

Icons
X-Play
Cinematech
