So I am going to make a fool out of myself. Here is a song I just wrote, first and last. I think it's decent for a few minutes. It cames from the heart. Now if only I could write music...

You Make me want to Learn the Guitar
Pick it up and sing you a tune
Like McCartney or Dylan sure would

I would tell you how I felt
Through the touch of a well written note
And hopefully you would feel it to
and it would become a duet

You Make me want to Learn the Guitar
So pick up another and sing along
We could be glad to have eachother
And would be happy even if we were bad

But it scares me to think
I have no talent or voice
All I have is that spirit to do it
For you, isnt that enough?

It's up to you to decide
Ive done all I think I can
But oh oh remember
You Make me want to Learn the Guitar

I like it.

2 things immediately come to my mind:
-lyrics are rather short, so it would be a song with one or several big instrumental parts, or a very long instrumental intro
-it's harder to compose over non-riming lyrics, but it's a good thing IMO, it prevents easy, commercial crap

Like I said, I like it, I immediately felt that it came from the heart, as you put it.

Thanks for the compliments and advice. I agree with the ryming things, I rather just have a good musical tune and sing along to it. I don't know how I would think of anything though. Heh.

this is weird, i wrote the chords/tabs for a song (acoustic guitar), but the song had no lyrics. funny thing is, these words seem like an insane fit. i hope u dont mind if i tinker around with what you wrote?
