If you guys haven't already heard of it, you should read Kid Radd (http://www.kidradd.com/). It's one of the best webcomics I've ever read. It's quite hilarious at times, but has a great story with some serious bits thrown in.

Anyone on here heard of it?

Yeah, it is pretty old. It finished up like spring of '04, but the forums are still somewhat lively, if small. Also, if you use Firefox, try using IE instead, becuase Firefox doesn't work so well with parts of it.

And if you really like it, download the archived collection, it's like the director's cut DVD. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

BUAHAHAHA!

I just got to the part where the universe is destroyed by the power of cheese. I didn't know I had it in me to laugh so hard...

must get back to homework...

maybe just 5 more minutes.

It's clever writing, just short on laughs.

I started reading that about when the author was about halfway through it.

I have to say, I'm greatly impressed with it. It starts as a simple humor-comic with some really neat and cool scenes strewn through, but ends with some profound, though provoking material. All I have to say about it is...

Yeah, I started it yesterday, finished just now.

Great comic. It's worth a read.

Heh, the concept reminds me of Reboot.

It's kinda like Reboot + The Matrix + Plot.

Yeah, that's why I liked it so much - it has a truckload of great humor, but it actually has an engaging plot, not just random retarded shit. *cough8BitTheatrecough*. >_>

And it does have some of the same elements as Reboot. o_O

I agree, so long as we forget that that christmas flash thing ever existed.

God that was horrible.

"There's no need to whisper, sir. These rooms are soundproof."

Not too bad. I may just end up reading the rest for the hell of it. Sometimes it's difficult to tell when the animations are done, but it's not a big issue.

Don't get me wrong, I do like 8BT pretty well, though I haven't read it in a while. I just prefer webcomics that have a bit more substance to them, in terms of story.

Well, besides VG Cats. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

I still prefer Shifters: the Beast Within (http://www.shifters.keenspace.com). Were-pires own all.

Eh. I've been reading through Kid Radd the past two nights or so, and it suffers from the same thing many webcomics do: Poor transitions from dramatic plot to humor. I am enjoying the comic, especially the awesome animated sequences and the lengthy Earthbound-esque storyline, but the shift from angst to humor never seems natural.

That's a problem with most webcomics. The creator will have a good story to tell, but won't be able to tell it correctly.
