Yeah, i hate to say this knowing that there's people here that are more experienced than me, but how do I use the mag guides? They confuse me. Where it shows the different items and numbers i'm not sure what it means. For example, the item monomate might have the number -4 next to it. What does that mean? Somebody help me!!!

They refer to the amount that the corresponding bar will be increased when that food is taken. Each bar is out of 100. So monomate might have MIND - 4 next to it, which means it decreases the mind stat by 4% of a bar. The stats cannot go down a level either.

See the colored bars that fill when you give you mag items?

Each bar is divided into a hundred parts. When the bar reaches one hundred your mag levels up.

So if the guide shows -4 mind for a monomate, then feeding your mag a monomate will bring it down .04 levels.

mags cannot level down. Only full levels count toward stat bonuses.

The guides show full values for Synch and IQ.

Edit: Damn you Ryuko!

Ok, I get that, but how do I know mow much to give my mag if I want it to change in a certain way?
In english How much do I level each stat(DEF, POW, ETC.) to get a certain mag?

Thats determined by your class and section ID. You'd have to check the guides for that info. Most of the rare special mags are obtained by keeping two sets of stats equall at level 100 (e.g. POW + DEX = MIND + DEF or whatever) Check the gallery to see which mag you want and then see if it's obtainable by your class/section ID. (Although you can always create a Lv 1 dummy character just for the purposes of mag raising.)

In the mag guides you will see an equation for each mag such as POW > DEX > MIND. This means that to get that mag, your POW must be the higest level on your mag followed by DEX and then MIND. For normal mags, DEF plays no role in evolution. However it is recommended that you keep your DEF at 5, because DEF sucks.

For the episode 1&2 rare mags DEF will come into play. You see an equation such as DEF + DEX = POW + MIND. This means that at level 100 your combined DEF and DEX scores must equal your combined POW and MIND scores. A common example is 5/50/45/0 when raising a power mag. If your mag does not meet the formula at level 100 you can try again at each 10 level interval (110, 120, etc. . .). Once your mag has evolved into a rare mag, it cannot evolve again.

So lets say your a hunter and you check this guide (http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=1240) (as you should). The first mag you see (from left to right) is Varuna. Hunters gain this at level 10 no matter what. From there the chart splits into three branches. Each branch is labeled with a stat, specifically the stat that must be highest for your mag to become the evolution shown. So lets say at level 35 power is your highest stat. Your mag becomes Rudra. The third evolution is the most confusing. The chart is split into two columns. These columns show the mags you will get for each formula under a certain section ID type. I think you said earlier that you have a bluefull character, so for that character you will ignore the first column. The stats listed on the branches of the third evolution are your second highest stat. Your mag's new form depends on the first highest and second highest stat. So let's say your bluefull character has POW as his first highest and DEX as his second highest stat. Your mag will become Kama. At each 5 level interval after level 50, you mag will change forms to reflect its owner (Profession, section ID, and in the case of the rare mags, gender) and stats. Lets say when you mag hits level 60 its DEX is higher than POW. To find which form your mag will take, follow the chart as if DEX had been the highest stat at level 35. Your mag will become Garuda.

Any questions?

like the others have said, the guides show the numbers/levs of pow, def and/or dex for a mag so it can evolve to certain mag
for example: from this evo chart (http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=1036)

Hu mag: Lv 50; group id: A; mag: Varaha; align: POW > DEX > MIND
btw, group id: A is VIRIDIA, SKYLY, PURPLENUM, REDRIA, YELLOWBOZE

so, in plain english: as a hunter in group A id, at lv50, your mag will be a varaha if its stat are pow > dex > mind

that's the skinny, there is more but..
