My DVD-Rom = FUBAR

Ok i have a i don't know what type of DVD-Rom in my stupid compaq presario 7940.....(compaws are built like shiznit) but anyway....ok i put in a CD and i've tried it with many different cd's all perfectly clean no scratches....i'm also using WinXp but anyway...the little CDdisc shows up next to the cursor when i place it in...the cd i can here spinning...but all of a sudden i hereit stop....the cd...then it stops reading the cd..i go to my computer...open drive E...and it says INSEERT CD....when the cd's allready there....i think it' just stops spinning in the dvdr what the hell do i do?? i dont wanna buy a new one =(

Right click on the drive and tell it to eject CD. Push it back in and see if it updates =>_>=

Yeha my dvd rom sucks too..always freezing up and always messes up, thats my I never watch movies on it....
