i just posted this on Cheaters too, so i'm just going to copy and paste.

my friend used to play PSO on gamecube but recently switched over to XBL when Halo 2 came out.
he's gotten bored with it and he wants to come back to PSO!!!! but he wants to know which version is better, XBox or gamecube.
Here are some questions he asks:
1.Is the headset really worth it or is typing better?
2.does the xbox version make you use the gamertag as your character name?
3.Which game has worse hacking/cheating?

1. The basic headset is okay. I picked up a wireless headset which is awesome, if a bit pricey (Logitec-Circuit City). Personal preference - I like the live chat, some prefer typing (even on xbox).

2. The gamertag does not have to be your char's name. You can have 12 chars on xbox - they can all have different names.

3. Pick your poison. There is cheating and hacking on both platforms. If you want to avoid cheating and hacking, play Blue Burst. Otherwise, accept it as part of the game and choose who you want to play with.

A.Its ok but you have complete idiots just yelling or playing music throught them. you can voice ban them if you want. i would rather type then use the headset. but that's just me ^_^

2.does the xbox version make you use the gamertag as your character name?
A. You can use 12 characters per gamertag slot. there is about 5 slots if i remember so you can create 60 characters if you want.

3.Which game has worse hacking/cheating?
A.There's a no win situation with both games. Both are just as bad as the other when it comes to cheating.

You could have 60 chars ...

but I have enough trouble keeping track of the 12 chars on one slot.

Useful though if more than one family member wants their own gamertag.

The first thing your friend needs to remember is that he will have to start from scratch if he goes to XBox, where as if he starts up again on Gamecube he will already have established characters.

Basically if you're on either system you have your goods and your bads.

With the voice chat there is something like a six or seven second voice lag for some reason, which can get annoying at times, and for some strange reason XBox gets all the quests about a month or two later than GC.

Personally, I can't go back to the DC way of typing, so the XBox is the way I play.

As far as cheaters, it's an online game, there will always be cheaters on online games, GC or XBox neither are better at keeping the cheaters away than the other, so like was said before. pick your poison.

Personally i prefer the gc ver because the worst cheats you get is duping and 50hz is a very friendly area.
