I own a Lexmark Z42. My mother uses a HP 722C. The Lexmark is a rather cheap printer and I don't get all the quality I'd like, while the HP printer is just flat out a pain in the ass to use. It has trouble taking in paper and envelopes, and often just stops for no reason.

Because I realized I have several things I wanna scan, and our photocopier is a big mean bulky machine that weights a ton, I figured an all-in-one printer was in order. Printer, color photocopier and scanner all in one. Here's what I have looked at:

Well, this is the one (http://www.shopping.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpdirect/shopping/scripts/home/store_access.jsp?product_code=Q5562A%23ABA&jumpid=oc_R1002_USENC-001_HP%20Officejet%207310%20All-in-One〈=en&cc=us&template_type=product_detail&script_name=product.cgi) I've got; it served to replace a copy machine, a fax machine and a printer (the scanner and multiple memmory card/stick slots were just icing on the cake), so the price was somewhat justified. Its got some fancy-schmancy uber control program that will let you run any of its functions from any computer on the network, but the nifty little 2.5 inch display screen will allow you to run anything just the same. It prints fast, copies and scans fast too.

As for you Shuri, just get whatever gets the job done. If printing and another 2 pages per minute or a bit higher scanning resolution is worth some extra money to you, then go for it, but if not, you've just saved yourself some dough.

Get the one that does what you need, but has the cheapest replacement cartridges.
