View Full Version : Stupid Internet Connections...

...Thanks to Internet Connection Sharing (The only way my GC can get online now), my internet connection sucks even more than it did before. -_-;;; (And that was hard to do).

Actually, it's not the internet connection. It's pretty much screwed up my computer. It will restart at random times, and often.

...But strangely enough, not when I'm on the computer.

It's very predictable. If I'm on the computer, or if I'm on the GC and NO ONE is on the computer, then it's fine. If my brothers are on the computer and I'm on the GC, I can pretty much guarantee that I will be disconnected in the middle of something important. Say... Olga Flow? In Challenge? http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

And I can't just say to them, "Stay off the compuer while I'm on the Gamecube," cause then... well, they wouldn't listen to me anyways http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Despite the fact that I think it was very worth it to get back online, these random disconnections are really bugging me >_< Only once has this happened in the lobby: The rest of the time, it's either been in Challenge mode, or at the end of a Maximum Attack Run (Not kidding -.-)

You do know that a bloggel of information will cause a disconnect, right? http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif That is mainly your reason. Kill your brothers. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

well, I suggest that you use it either late at night, or early in the morning.
or break their crap, either one.

Aiye. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif
That sounds like no fun at all.

Can you route it so the primary connection is running into your GC and a splitter/secondary lines are outgoing to the siblings' PC(s)?

That way you can disconnect their line during important parts and ask them to check the computer for problems and errors.

This will give you some time, depending on how well your brothers can handle these problems, to finish up what you were doing in-game.

Kind of cruel, yes. A good idea?, maybe.
Post more info! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_yes.gif

It's just one computer, and it's directly connected to that. Nice idea though http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I've been noticing an increase in disconnects (and FSODs) lately. Not just myself either. Though I have to say, if someone is doing Peer-to-peer that will kill your connection. Think of the internet as a 'stream' to your house. You can break it up into little canals, or in this case connections, but the ammount of water (data) remains constant. Thus, if someone else is using the PC online at same time it will send more data the further upstream to the source, since your PC is connected as primary, it will suck up the most bandwidth. But uploading on most ISPs results in terrible lag because they limit the downstream (downloading) when the upstream increases (uploading).
