Will PSO for gamecube last longer?

I doubt it, the japanese ships are still as crowded as ever... and the hackers seem to have gotten bored since there's no one on the american ships to torment.

It will probably go through phases.

There are very few Episode 3 players left. That game's popularity peaked around the Spring of last year. Most of the best players left several months ago. Still, you can find a few people willing to play it.

Weren't the sega DC servers still left up even waay after the DC went defunct in the US? If thats true, then GC PSO should have a lot more time left, even after the next gen systems come out. And as stated above, the jp servers are busy, so may as well let the rest of us play.

Considering that they only released plus a few months ago, it would not make sense for them to ditch it to some after.

PSOGC is on its last leg of the journey. PSOGC hit the peak on summer 2, this is going on summer 3. That is not to say that the servers will not be up longer, but that there will be fewer people. Back early last summer I can remember well over 600 being on the US ships alone at peak time and over 5000 being on JP ships in peak time Japan. Now we are lucky to get 200 on US and 2000 on JP. Some of us more 'hardcore' will be there till the bitter end when Sega shuts down the servers. *points at self* Now we just have to wait for PSO:BB US or, the more likely, PSU. And as a rough guess, I see PSOGC US servers up another, say year or 2, JP up... hell knows how long.

Yeah, it'll be around for a while longer. There's enough people on the JP ship that Sega's not going to pull PSO completely quite yet. I'll give it another year at the minimum, and at the max, until PSU comes out...(which is 2 years or more) seeing as how it will trump PSO in every way imaginable. XD

Y'know, even though I never played on DC, hearing the news that the Servers were going down, filled me with a strange sort of sadness...

That being said, I sincerely hope that the GC servers stay on for a good while longer. I'd like to play on them, someday. >_>

But yes, I did have a change of heart. Three months time I had several more friends leave and had grown tired of the rest of the shit going on with GC. In any event this thread should have stayed put, in the past where it belongs.
