If it was either a million, or the above stated billion, first thing I would do is buy my parents a new home where ever they wanted. Then I'd buy myself a house and a car. After that, bank accounts and stocks etc.

You'd have to be purchasing in a very very low-cost-of-living area to buy any sort of mansion for under a million. You could do it quite well with a billion, though.


Personally, if I had an extra grand in my pocket, I'd get some stuff paid off, do a little splurging, and move into a nicer apartment, if I've got enough left afterward.

With a million, I'd buy a nice house and pay off some stuff.

With a billion, I'd build my own house, buy my parents' house for them, then as Abdur commented he'd do, I'd live off of the interest. Needless to say, I think my wife and I would finally have those children we've been talking about.

1000 - get myself and unreasonable amount of xbox games and use the rest on a nite out for me and my buddies!

million - get a small house, reasonable car, pay my parents back my uni fees, get a kick ass pc or 2 and but the rest in the bank.

billion - as above, but give my dad a cut so he can retire early, get my ma something nice, pay off all my friends debts, buy myself an arcade to run to keep me busy, keep 2 million in the bank for rainy days and then give the rest to a 3rd world charity.
