XBox: character transfer

I created an account 3 months ago using a 2 months free xbox live. I used another two months free, not knowing i could reactivate my old gamer tag, and I was wondering if there is a way i can take my character(s) off of my new account to my old one, or atleast take my items. Any solutions?

if you have a memory card you can transfer your charcter one at a time(the memory card will only let you transfer one char. at a time.) then you can give your new chracter your items. this will require 2 controllers and a memory card. but you can only use your transfered chars. during multiplayer, you can't play single mode or online.
