View Full Version : GC-Item: Another unsealing

After finally obtaining a Sealed J Sword last week, I decided to do the obvious and attempt to unseal it. I had high expectations that the most widely accepted count, 23,000, would end the misery of normal MA - unfortunately for me, it did not.

After amassing 27,500 kills in normal MA ( That was 55 runs at exactly 500 kills ) I was disheartened and decided to use it casually from then on.

I noticed the J-sword in my quick menu items list this afternoon during a temple run http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I kept a note of the quests I done since I quit MA, and using the quest/area counts estimated that I killed a minimum of 2000 enemies. I was playing mainly with just a force or low level ult friends, so the actual number of kills I got should be a little higher. Therefore my personal kill count is 30,000 approx.

Ready to use.

My Sealed J had 35 Machine, which was carried over to the Tsumikiri. Thats good news for Blitz http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Congrats!

So it was just 30k kills huh?

Just wondering did you go to Ruins at all after doing max attack and if you did, did you check if you could unseal it there? Or was Temple for sure the place where it was first unsealable?

Thankyou http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I was initially unsealable in temple. I was intruiged by your idea about ruins triggering it and tried that shortly after 23,000 kills to no avail.

First of all I'd like to congratulate you. And secound of all I'd like to ask you how you did the above. Meaning how did you get weapons and healing items in the same part of the quick menu? It seems you are on GC and to the extent of my knowledge that is impossible. The only thing I can think of is modified pic or a hack. Please help me out.

When a Sealed JSword begins unsealable, when you go into the Start > Item Pack > Items menu, and go to the Sealed JSword, "Equip" will change to, "Use." That's what the tool items say.

Ok I definately notice a connection between all the people who claim to have unsealed it and have proof (i think that's two http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif). I believe it has to have something to do with a forced raised mag and being a skyly because both the people who showed evidence of unsealing it are using a sato mag, female force rare stats mag I believe. And both are skylys. It makes sense that only a skyly can unseal it since only they can find a SJS. If you watch the video of the female android unsealing it she is a skyly and also has a sato. Both are androids too, not sure if that's a factor though. I believe that if you obtain a mag raised by a force who, most likely, has used all the techniques and put that mag on a hunter skyly after so many kills or hours of use (hours makes more sense to me cause there is a definate counter) then they will be able to unseal it. Also the required ATP for TJS is needed to unseal it. It might be that it has to be a rare force stats mag (sato, peema, etc) or maybe just any mag raised by a force.
I think you had a sato, atleast in that one picture it looks like one. If not I'm not all incorrect just about the sato part heh.

I'd say it has more to do with the sword's kill counter. XP

I found it with my HUnewearl, who used her own self-raised Devil's Tail. Mags and whatnot have nothing to do with unsealing, Auracom used his Whitill HUnewearl to unseal his. It just has to do with kill count and luck of finding.

Make that four.

The word of thanks is appreciated Blessed, but I also want to thank you for giving me the drive to start this again. As some of you may know, I was previously given a SJS by an uber legit friend of mine some time ago. During a period of maybe 2 months, I worked tirelessly offline to unseal the thing. After 35,000 personal kills on it, I gave up, banked the thing, and didn't play the character again.

However...

Yesterday morning, SJS was found legitimately.

Due to Blessed's perhaps more accurate kill count, although I do see a conflicting report possibly for kills on PSOp from Axel, I am once again going to try to do this. Work may interfere slightly with the unsealing schedule, but I hope to have the kills in a short time, just like these two.

For anybody keeping track, this SJS was found in East Tower online with PSOplus. For some reason, I seem to get a LOT more rare drops on PSOplus than I ever got on PSO ver 1.0. Some have considered that the drop rates on Plus are messed up. I'm doubting that, but they do seem to hit that 1 in whatever number a lot more frequently.

For some reason, this sword is dropping like crazy lately.

Just keep doing runs for it. You can't lose hope, or even show a trace of doubt. (Ok, doubt is fine, since mostly, it will not drop at all). Take Yu Gi's word for it: trust in the heart of The Stuff, and you can overcome any obstacle.

RicoRoyal
Mar 17, 2005, 04:37 PM
Theory:

A minimum of 23,000 kills must take place in order for a SJS to have the possibility of unsealing (unsealing before said ammount of kills is accomplished will not be possible under any circumstances). Afterwards, there will be a 1/12,000 chance of the use function becoming available for every kill starting at 23,001 and above (until one gets "lucky" with the roll of one helluva dice). So by this belief, anything below 35,000 kills is considered a "lucky" unsealing while anything above 35,000 is "unlucky", but on average, 35,000 kills - 12,000 additional kills after 23k - are neccessary to unseal the sword.

This is NOT my theory. It belongs to someone who wishes to not be identified for fear of retaliatory rudeness from PSOW members.

Analyzing the different enemy kill counts of various individuals, this theory seems to want to hold together.

No-one has been able to confirm an unsealing with a kill count below 23,000. All of the trustworthy reports of unsealings have had a kill count larger than 23,000.

Auracom:
"However I don't think it was 23k kills, seeing as Muff' told me he had 10k. And I carried on from there, I had done way more then 23k kills alone maybe... 32k? or somewhere above that. I can't say for sure..." Approx 42k kills then.
- 19,000 more kills before use function available
(unlucky)

Bishop711:
Lack of proper kill documentation. Thank you, come again.

Blessed:
"30,000 approx"
- 7000 more kills before use function was available
(lucky)

AxelgearVII (PSOp):
"J Sword Total Kills: 24,077"
- 1077 more kills before use function was available
(very lucky)

Trypticon:
"35,000 personal kills on it" "uber legit"
Assuming Adam's friend didn't even use the thing once and that the next couple of kills will unseal it...
- 12,000 more kills after 23k before use function is theoretically available
(dead-on if only it would unseal already!)

Now let's average out the extra kills.

19000 + 7000 + 1077 + 12000 = 39077

39077/4 = average of 9769.25 EXTRA kills after 23k kills needed to unseal.

9769 is getting kinda close to 12,000, no? The more kills it takes Trypticon's SJS to unseal, then the more this average nears 12,000.

For some odd reason I thought AxelgearVII had actually unsealed it. If i'm not mistaken, I believe he only has that ammount of kills I listed, but the sword itself is still sealed.

Let's see, I think I count five unsealings:

Auracom
Bishop711's friend
Blessed
Some person affiliated to IGN (not a repeat is it?)
AxelgearVIII

And hopefully, we'll be hearing of Trypticon and Blitzkommando unsealing their own as well.

Right now, the averages I've calculated don't really mean much considering the sources of information aren't very many. If Trypticon could start fresh from his new sword and keep count, but also pass down his other 35k+ sword to someone who thinks they have the time to add a few more thousand kills to it, that would be great.

In anycase, congratulations to all of you who have unsealed or are currently unsealing those swords! Very exciting time indeed.

Well, congratulations Axel. Good job on your count, as I said, I got rather lax after 23,000 and began to use my sword casually alongside MA runs. My major error however was that during MA1 I counted Canabins which were destroyed with Fire Traps. I assumed the kills would count in the same fashion as HUmar/HUnewearl techcasting but if you truly found your J-sword I must be mistaken. 27,000 seems correct if I take that into consideration.

Good luck Adam, and have fun http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Along the way I dced with the sword still equipped, left the game once without banking, dropped it on the ground, AND unequipped it; all by accident. >_> I didnt count the kills from the times I dced and the one time I left the game without banking. Yeah, in our situation it didn't matter if you unequiped it or didn't bank it every run. Omni Being unequiped it multiple times(on accident actually using quick menu), used magic to get kills, and did not bank it unless he wanted to use black king bar. If you want to do all that stuff just in case, that's fine... but I'm positive you don't need to.

There are some good ideas brought up in this thread to get a more accurate kill count. Unfortunately, I may not end up being any help in them, at least in respect to seeing how many more kills was necessary on the older J sword that was given to me by the Uber Legit friend of mine, Lightning.

While I do trust Lightning to a fault, after an accurate count of more than 35,000 kills, it did not become unsealable at all. After the new J sword dropped the same day Blessed unsealed his, I gave it to the Pink Passion character, while first having her drop the older J sword so I wouldn't get confused between the two of them, and quit the game. So the older J sword is no more. To be honest, after so many kills on that older one, I never wanted to see another J sword ever. But now that I know the newest one is legit, I figured I'd give it another go. Perhaps with only a bit more than 1000 kills on the new one, I am already feeling burnt out. The kills have not been acurately counted on the new one either. In fact, I didn't really care much to do so, since I wanted it only for a scene in the next film I'm planning. I'll try to keep a more accurate count from now on though.

I am still of the mind that the kill count needed for unsealing is as random as the percents on the weapon though.
