Firstly, for anyone who doesnt know who the hell I'm talking about, he's an overweight comedian. (A very, very funny one at that) Pure greatness. Anyway, I was desperate, and decided to watch a music channel, only to find he's released a song http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif It's 'Is this the way to Amarillo?', cant remember who sang it..

Well, its an old song, sang by the original guy, but Peter Kay mimes the words http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif For any Brits on the forum, Mr Blobby was in the vid as well http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
I dont know if Peter Kay made it big in the USA or anywhere else, so apologies if you dont have a clue what im talking about.

Peter Kay- Legend.

The original singer of the song was Tony Christie.

Yeah, I agree that Peter Kay is one of the top British comedians we have now. I like his material so much, I have an avatar of Brian Potter, the character played by Peter Kay himself from Phoenix Nights on a game forum where I'm a regular.

I don't know if the States have seen his material yet, but I know that Ricky Gervais has become popular there with The Office series and Politics.

Yes! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif I have created a patriotic thread http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif As for insulting my 'homeland', feel free, it needs cleansing of the common 'charver'. Peter Kay, utter legend, same as Mr Johnny Vegas and Ricky Gervais.

EDIT: Just seen the vid again, Brian May from Queen is in it, kick ass! Loads of stars in it, none quite as mighty as Kay though.

I dont mind Peter Kay, his live shows are a riot, but I prefer Bill Bailey more. He shows alot of diversity in his act, mixing stand up, music and plain wierdness.

Ross Noble is also a comedian worth taking in. Twas in hysterics watching one of his shows, so funny I couldnt breath.

A Bill Bailey fan, eh? What did you think of his Part Troll show, DSA?

I haven't seen Ross Noble's material, but I thought that he was quite funny on one of the episodes of Have I Got News For You as a guest.

Part Troll? PURE GENIUS! My friend brought the DVD around to me and I just sat laughing all the way through. I was chuffed that my hometown got joked about (go Taunton Cider and your teleportation program) and I was in tears at certain points. 'Das Hokey Kokey' was great and strangely addictive (me making my cereal in the morning while singing it) and...well I just cant help praising that show so much. Im waiting for his next tour as im definately going to get tickets for it.

Ross Noble is great as he goes on such a tangent with everything. He will see someone in the crowd, make a comment then talk about crazy stuff for 5 minutes about the comment he made until he finally gets back to the original gag.

but peter kay it fucking rocking! i saw the top of the tower and my mum wants a bungalow and laughed my balls off.

the part about dunking biccies into tea had me in tears! Hob knobs are the hard asses of the biscuit world!

Phoenix nights was class, but i thought max n paddy's road to no where was kinda week. Even if it did feature that always entertaining brendan o'caroll briefly http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Dude, you don't have to let your belly hang out ( It will eventually, you can't keep that monster hidden forever http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif ), in my most sincere opinion you are already a genius at comedy.

lol about half-a-dozen people beat me to mentioning Bill Bailey - arguably the best musical comedian ever. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Omad Djahlili (sp?) is another good comedian but he doesn't seem to do much stand-up as far as I know. I think he's living it up on the other side of the pond. :s

Peter Kay is alright, saw his Manchester stand-up thing on TV a while back, but to be honest I find him a bit tame - I prefer comedians with a sharper, crueler wit than him, such as Ricky Gervais, Jack Dee, or comedians that have a more surreal act, like Omad and Bill, but then I'd have to say Kay is the best observational comedian around at the moment.

Lots of more decent stand-ups that are not as well-known on Paramount 2 that I've discovered recently - worth checking out that channel in the evenings if you have the time.
