I just got a brandband adapter to go online with the cube today and of course I'm having problems. First, I tried to set it up the simple way and asked it to automatically find my IP address. This is the message I got:

"(No.101)
Attempt to connect to the server has failed. It is possible that the server is undergoing matience."

Total crap. So I tried everything under the sun to get it to work until finally I got on my computer and found my IP address and everything so I could type it in manually. Well, I did that and this was what I got:

"(No.102)
You could not be connected to the server. Please check that your provider settings are correct before connecting"

Again, crap. I don't understand whats wrong. I've tried everything.

In order to help you out, we need some information on your setup. What kind of service provider are you using (DSL, Cable, Satellite)? Are you connecting your GC to a router? If so, does your router support DHCP? Is your computer connected to the same router as the Gamecube? Answer those questions and we maybe able to help you out.

I use cable one internet service and I've been trying to hook the cube up to a hub which...now that I think about it is probably the problem. I just got a router so I'm going to hook that up and see what happens.

I feel stupid now.

After looking at this page:
http://help.cableone.net/networking/

this page:
http://help.cableone.net/networking/hub.aspx

and this page:
http://help.cableone.net/networking/router.aspx

I'm assuming that since you do not have a T1 line, a hub will probably not work for you. As a consequence, you'll have to make sure that your router can act as a DHCP server and client. Your computer (assuming you connect your computer to the router) and GC will also have to be setup to use DHCP. On the GC, that can be done by telling it to automatically retrieve the settings and setting the DNS server information to "auto".
