Error 101 ??

My friend who has been online for months now cant get on because of Error 101. It says "You have failed to connect to the DNS server. The server may be undergoing maintenance" or soemthing like that. She's been getting that message for about a week straight now. Sometimes she gets on and sees that lobby view, but then she gets dced. Any ideas on how to fix? BTW she uses dial-up.

It sounds like your friend's ISP has modified their network infrastructure in some way. Here are some things your friend can do:

1. On his/her computer, do a traceroute (tracert on Windows) to a Japanese website. If the hop count goes over 30, that maybe a problem.

2. Call the ISP and ask if any changes have been made to the company's network.
