I've been reading up on Sega-AM2's latest game:

http://www.sega-am2.co.jp/beachspikers/imgs/package_large.jpg

VIRTUA VOLLEYBALL: BEACH SPIKERS

You can unlock items/parts/designs in the World Tour mode, and here's a few:

SPACE CHANNEL 5 - Ulala Bikini

PHANTASY STAR ONLINE - HUnewearl hair and ears (Nei)

VIRTUA COP - Cop glasses

http://www.sega-am2.co.jp/beachspikers/imgs/glass_vc.jpg

There are more secrets but I won't spoil them.

August 13th people, mark your calenders!

I'm going to buy this game for the great in-depth game-play, and it doesn't hurt that I actually do play beach volleyball. Why else would I buy it...?

Did you ever play Virtua Tennis? I loved VT (probably my favourite sports game of all time) and I hear Beach Spikers is along the same lines of VT (easy to pick up, yet hard to master).

I'm also a sucker for co-op multiplayer games, so Doubles Tennis (or volleyball) should be real cool. I can't wait!

There's this, Super Monkey Ball 2, Mario Sunshine and Animal Crossing coming up, and of course, Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 & 2. Times like this I'm glad to own a NGC.

Only HUneweal's default hair and her ears? That's crap, maybe one that looks like RAcaseal or has HUneweal's yellow swimsuit or somthing like that.

Oh well, interesting game anyway. Even if it weren't hotties in bikinis on the sand.

I have a friend down there who's at Uni and he's told me great things about Beach Spikers. Also impressions from the recently released Japanese version on the GC have been positive.

I heard the first playtest of the game was in Bournemouth, or at least that was there "TEST" machine was.

How did you get to go to Sega of Europe HQ?

Oh, and Birmingham is where I live.

Well, Deathscytheapha won a competion on Dreamarena to visit the HQ...we played that and Virtua Fighter 4, virtua golf, + others last year.....I spent a night entering the competition 500+ times, and I didn't win......he entered about 3 or so times and he won lol. Took me along with him thankfully. Thanks dude http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Actually, I got that wrong. Here's what there is (not just the ears):

4. PHANTA2 - Unlocks uniform (114, 115); hair (77); face (53) [Phantasy Star 2, Nei (?)]

So you can get a PSO-related costume to go with it.

In Sonic Adventure two, one of the billboards in city escape as PSO on it. In the Gamecube version, it has PSO Ep. 1 and 2. I may buy beachspikers, but compared to DOAX, those girls seem downright flat. If I had an Xbox I'd buy DOAX.

GhoStar

I lost all interest in DOAX when I read an interview with the game's producer saying there will be no 4-player mode, just 2-player (because he doesn't want it to be a party game).

That's BS, if ya ask me.

And then in Rouge's level "Mad Space", there are a few certain boxes you can break open to reveal armor, item, and weapon boxes from PSO (blue, green, and orange).

Ah, that was a kick ass day out. SEGA games all day, free food, SEGA golf balls. All thanks to my knowledge of hidden sheep in SEGA games.

But i didnt actually get into Beach Spikers. I was to busy humiliating people on VF4. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Hehehe, ah, the memories. It was fun beating the crap out of a SEGA technician at Virtua Tennis and winning an exclusive SEGA shirt http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif *cough*

Oh, and the free food! It was gorgeous!

Ohhhh, and that bloody awesome huge Samba De Amigo machine....god I love that http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif The sticker on it was hilarious....what was it said again dude?

The sticker read:

"Do Not Throw Maracas at Opponant, You may Hurt Them"

Well, somthing like that. Oh and you forgot that 45 mins or so that we sat down and played Planet Harrier from start to finish. That hurt my fingers.

Back on topic. The hunewearl looks really wierd, i dont like the real life style.
