View Full Version : Clean kill for a rare drop?

I was told by someone online that in order to get a rare animal to drop something it has to be a clean kill, that is they can't get a hit on you or it won't work. Is that right? Sounds a bit odd. I'm on Xbox. Thanks.

no not true, rare drops are determinied by a drop ratio ie 1/512
and alot of dumb random luck (not lck as a stat just your persinal luck, you leprichon you)

1/512 is the appearance rate of rare enemies. The rare drop rate from a rare enemy, like all enemies, varies between section IDs.

It's amazing the number of myths surrounding this game. Well I'm glad anyway that I don't have to go for such a difficult kill, now I can relax a bit, cheers.

Yup. Oh and as DezoPenguin has brought out before. Piping 512 enemies does not guarantee a sighting of one.
