My main goal is to use two network connections on my computer in a very explicit way.

First, my network is set up in the following way, focusing only on my computer for this purpose: My computer is connected to a router with a Netgear FA311 card (I want this connection to be internet only). The next connection is a phoneline network, in which my computer is a client with the Intel anypoint PCI card (I want this to be file and printer sharing only).

My goal is to have the netgear FA311 card be the only internet connection, such as for webpages and games. The Intel Anypoint card must only be for file and printer sharing, and can not be used for the internet connection.

The problems I get are the following:
1. The Intel Anypoint network shares the connection over the phoneline, which is not acceptable, since the phoneline connection is slower and not reliable.
2. When I share files over the phoneline network, the netgear FA311 card tries to also send the files, which causes collisions.

I'd appreciate anyone's ideas on trying to help getting this to work.

Now I'm not so sure I should trust your information to setup my network. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

(Nah, you really did help me out a bunch. Everything is just about all setup for me http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif )

When you use the network set up wizard on the client computer for PCI Intel card computer just go to your printer and files and make sure they are shared, but when your using the network setup wizard...when you select client computer it shouldn't be having the other computer sending files to it. I'm not to sure though i'll ask my uncle for you, he works with computer networking and actually is a part of "deerfield networking systems team" which is what the windows netwrok setup wizard is based off of. I'll look into it more deeply.

It's ok, I got it fixed. The main problem with trying to isolate the two cards was that when I disabled the phoneline's ability to share the internet connection, the file and printer sharing would also be disabled.

...I recalled explaining to iceblink that a router is like a switch and a hub, so I actually learned to take my own advice for once and give just the router a try =^-^=;;;
