Hi. I'm playing the offline version of PSO v.1. I have gotten as far as Cave 3 with my Veridian HUmar. I'm something like level 14 so yes I'm a n00b. I've searched all over the caves, yet I can't find any portal to progress. What exactly am I supposed to look for in there? Keep in mind that I am not currently assigned on any Hunter's Guild mission. Also, I've heard that you can kill a Pans Arm without them splitting apart. How do you do this? Thank you!!! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

You should be looking for a huge portal, much like the one you found in the forest, to proceed.

When pan arms are still connected, you could kill them by using a special weapon's special attack, such as a dim saber. At higher levels, people just plain do enough damage to kill them regularrly.

I'm currently equipped with a Dim Saber. How do I use it's special attack?

press Start, then go to custimize. Pick any action button, then put in the button that looks like a little sword with radio waves coming out of it.

Pan Arm's have a super thick shell. Only rares can penetrate the thing. However, Dim series (one-hit kill) and the serries that halves HP can use their special attack to whack the P-arms. just remember, it has pathetic accuracy.

You'll also wanna look for a Brand in C2 or a Sword in C1 before you go fight Del Rol Lee. and his porter is a big square one with red lines coming halfway from the bottom, like the dragon porter.

Also, get up a couple levs (via guild missions. The one where your client wants some sweets should be good, although you only get 1500 meseta) before you take on Lee. He's tough. I can ive you some tips, in case you haven't fought him or suked when doing it http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

In options, under customize, you'll see all the things you can customize. That is, you can put any attack, spell, or item on any button. You only attack with A because that's how its set at the start, but you can put it anywhere you like on the 3 buttons. Holding R switches to another 3 you can customize.

Put the special attack icon on a spare button in that customize menu... but know that specials work rarely. Specials connect sometimes, instant kill (such as Dim) work even less, and Dim itself is the lowest chance of them all.

Welcome to PSO hehe.. been online? Great game http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

If that's not just your signature, thx for the welcome! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Well, I don't even know who that guy is but I assume he's the boss character? If he's anything like that pathetic dragon (the big, red one), then I don't think there should be any problem. As far as the sword goes, um, those are weaker than my Dim Brand and although they hit multiple enemies, I usually like to take 'em on one at a time that way I'm not just standing there hacking away, I'm actually trying to evade them. Makes it a little more fun. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Well, I thank you all for your help! I will try looking for that big, red square protal that you all tell me about. For some reason when I cleared the cave of monsters, I never saw it. Maybe I accidentally walked past an unopened door (change that to most likely), so I guess the only way to do it is keep searching huh? Unless.....are there any maps online?

Oh, and no, I haven't been online with PSO. I wish I could but I have cable internet w/ no expensive Broadband Adaptor (which I don't even think works with PSO). I found a site that tells me how to connect with my computer, but it only works with Windows ME and Windows 98. I have XP. I'm sure there is a way to do it with XP, but I couldn't find anything that says Dial-Up Server in my control panel. Oh well.... Thanks again! http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Ah... I notice I said I was equipped with a Dim Saber. But now I think I remember it being called a Dim Brand. I think I accidentally called it a saber because it looks like a saber in-game. Are they actually different weapons or is saber just what everyone calls the brand because it actually is a saber in a sense?

brand is an upgraded saber. The important part is the pre-fix, dim, for which the special attack is a chance of a one hit kill.

The most important thing you should look for are %s. The higher the percent, the more damage you give. But look out for negative percents, they're bad.

And as for the brand. PSO has many different classes of weapons, and each class has many different variations, color, ATA, and POW. Pick up the versus books perfect guide. It could help you.

heh, out of my ignorance and laziness, instead of looking for that portal I go and kill that dragon again. Then I get to marvel at how that lady goes from Oprah to Suzanne Somers in a matter of 15 minutes as I escort her to that "magical waterfall" that she is so paticular about (why the hell didn't she end my quest when we passed all those other waterfalls?). Well, all I can say is I'll keep playing until I get bored of it. I'm having fun and all, only I wish I could get some better weapons than this lame Dim Brand. I mean, I found a Dim Partison, but it is soooo much weaker than the brand. If only they were equal in power, then I could sell that POS lightsaber and use my partison....

Hehe, Not to mention you wont be finding any good weps until later, you wont be able to USE them until much later too, lol.

For De Rol Le i used a mechgun, you will find them immensley useful for your level.(if you can use them yet)
they can get you all the way past Mines and Vol Opt to the last area No problem..try and find one, and keep checking the shop for good weps.

Yeh percentages are what you're after, they make a huge difference. If you find a partisan, check it out in the options, and the more % it has on "A.Beast", the stronger it is in Caves.

Weaps that can be tekked allow the %ages to raise and lower.. so argue with the tekker for good stats!

I like partisans. swift n accurate. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Got PSO or PSO Ver.2?
De Rol will be ALOT easier in Ver.2 cos he can't get fast hits/explosions on you, you're always able to heal in time (V2 is ghey because of this.. pos game.. no fun anymore.. ruin HC.. POS!!).
