It was just released a little while ago, guys. Give it some time to pick up users. Like I said, we've got some FTP's coming up, mine included, which will be hosting the installer. If you're having problems downloading it with the torrent, check your client settings, as everyone else seems to be downloading from it just fine, most with a steady 60kbps or better.

I recommend using Azureus.

Azerus is nice. They just added a feature where you don't even need a tracker anymore for a torrent to work.

But for now I'm going to stick to BURST! since I like the dos based GUI. For some reason its the one that takes up the least CPU. I can run like 8-10 and not take a hit.

Woo.. download finished over night.

Now I'm pretty much prepped for the Beta with the exception of an account.

I tried selecting Patch Download but it just sat there with the message about the Beta starting soon. Nothing downloaded.

.. Maybe their patch server was bogged down or something.

I couldn't hit ESC or anything to get out of the patch screen either. The background just sat there animating with that message, haha.

I ended up pressing ALT+TAB and making the game close that way.

I'll just wait 'til I can make an account before trying the Patch Download again anyhow.

That's some pretty darn good news here, people. My PSO spirit has been gone for quite some time. Now that a new PSO is being released, I'm getting all fired up, even if its only a beta version. I can't wait.

Does anyone have an idea how big its going to be? Rumor has it that you can only go up to level 20, but hey. Its a good start, I suppose.

The patch server has been up for a few days, the client that is going around the interent will update with the new patches from now till tuesday.

Tuesdays client D/L will include the patches that are being D/Ld from the earlly EGM client.

The TORRENT file is merely a file to help distribute it around the Internet. You will not need it on May 10th.

To solve that problem just go into youre Control Panel and look for Regional options.

Go to the second tab < languages > and uncheck the second check box, this will eleviate the problem.

Whenever I start psobb up, if I click download patch or start game, it freezes for a sec and then restarts my computer. Does anyone have this problem, or know how to correct it?

I just checked psobb.com and found Setup.exe available to download.

It's worse for me...

I just checked my download rate. And it says it will be 15 hours to complete download...

I'm terribly sorry for the mix-up that occured with the units...

After what could have been a 20 hour download (SBC Yahoo for me), the download crapped out on me and I ended up with corrupted files.

So for now, don't bother with the download on psobb.com

Yeah, pretty much the same here. I'm on a 3Mb DSL connection. It tells me it needs more than a day to get a file that isn't even 500MB. Just exactly how badly does Sega want me to play this game?

Edit: Got it from the fileplanet. 15 minutes wait. 30 minutes download....
Now if only the patch server would be reachable, and I could use the keyboard to actualy type something...

I was getting 60 to 80 KBps last night. It took around 3 hours to get it, I didn't count. I think Sega capped each connection to 5 to 10 KBps, I had to use segmented downloading to get the speed up.

Well, I was told to post my previous post here, so here we go
I'm not exactly sure if this is against any rules, but if it is, feel free to flame me and mods please delete the post, but here it goes.
I was having quite a few problems with downloading PSOBB from the site, most likely because I am on dial-up. It would often just disconnect in the middle of the download, or not connect at all. On top of that, it was a slow download (slow for 56k I should say). So I looked around and couldn't find any good download links. I'm probably just a bad Googler. So I figured, why not just put it on my site? This is for anybody who has had problems downloading at a slow speed (the server only downloaded at around 90kb/s, so I'm assuming it's slow for everybody) or dial-up users who are having problems connecting. I'd reccomend getting a download manager like GetRight just to make sure your progress is saved in case your internet goes down.

Here's a quick update with the new links because my download link started to be leached from other sites, so I had to make the download only work for registered users only. So, if you still need to download PSOBB US Open Beta, head on over to Sp1d3r.com (http://www.sp1d3r.com), register (only takes a minute or two), and head over to the downloads section.
