Some random notes on BB:

- The Zalure level on S-ranks is now 21, not 33, Jellen is still 18. So solo it's only useful for androids and HU/RA mar, but in teams using a (semi) FO would still be more convenient.

- Paganini's Shop has more items now. You can get Hunter/Ranger/Force Wall for Gallon points (from the bashing game and timing game).

- Towards the Future on SS rank can give two of the colored rings. You get Purple Ring for getting SS-rank by doing maximum kill, Black Ring for mimum kill. What about Maximum Attack ver2?

- Not only is it possible to add 5% to a weapon for 20 PD's or 30% for a Photon Sphere (which costs 99 PD's), you can now also add 1% for 4 PD's, or 10 hit for a Photon Crystal (drops in EP4). It's supposedly not possible to add hit to a weapon with 95 hit percentage.

- Dolphon / Dolphon Eclair are now immune to the freeze condition.

- Known new syntheses:
L50 mag + "Bill of Rappy" -> Rappy (mag)
Ophelie Seize + Heaven Punisher -> Mirumaruto
Love Heart + Magic Rock "Heart Key" -> Sweet Heart
Ramudaajan + ??? kills -> Excalibur
Items I'm not sure about: Shizai (is probably a merge), some Dragon body part that drops from Santemillion/Kondoryuu.

- Sattelite Lizard and Youi will turn invisible (no more targetting possible) when hit by guns, cards, or slicers.

- Monster attributes and drop types:
Buuta: Native, Weapons
Ze Buuta: Native, Armors
Ba Buuta: Native, Units
Sand Rappy: Native, Weapons
Del Rappy: Dark, Shields
Sattelite Lizard: A. Beast, Weapons
Youi: A. Beast, Shields
Asutaaku: Native, Weapons
Zuu: Native, Armors
Pazuzu: Native, ?
Dolphon: Native, Weapons
Dolphon Eclair: Native, ?
Goran: Dark, Weapons
Piro Goran: Dark, ?
Goran Detonator: Dark, ?
Melissa A: A. Beast, ?
Melissa A A: A. Beast, ?
Giltabril: Dark, Weapons

- Weapon/Armor sets:
Sweet Heart + Angel Harp -> +98 ATP, +12 ATA
Sweet Heart + Safety Heart -> +17 DFP, +2 EFR/ETH/EIC, +5 EDK/ELT
Sweet Heart + male chara near -> ATP up, DFP down
Sweet Heart + Vivian -> Battle unit between G/Battle and H/Battle
There are some more I don't know much about or am too lazy to look up, like Crimson Coat and some upgraded version of it that boost Red weapons and some item that boosts some HU weapons. There are rumors about Sweet Heart combining with Magical Piece and Marina's Bag too, and supposedly some of Sweet Heart's set boosts will become even better when near (more) male characters.

For Ranger, I believe it's...

Normal:
Rifle +5
Mechgun +9
Shot +15

Hard:
Blaster +15 (grind may be off on this one)

Haven't done Hunter that far, but I do believe the first one is a Sword +5.
The dagger I believe is a blade. Not sure on the third one.

I could try finishing up hard more Gov quests sometime soon and see what comes up.

I know I got a Sword +5 for Dragon and a Blade +10 for Wormface. Haven't beaten Opty yet, though. ;o And that's hunter of course.

No, I wouldn't mind doing an enemy count if you assign a quest ;P

The archives of the jp BB bulletin board might have something, but I wouldn't count too much on it.

I know I've seen a site with that kind of infos, but I will have to look again for it.

Look within "Quest Data". It doesn't have them all, but it has some.

For Hunters, it goes like this...
1: Sword +5
2: Blade +15
3: Slicer +15

If anything, the Blade and Slicer might be mixed up. Either way, Im already one step closer to getting a Rainbow Batton http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Ryudo
May 26, 2005, 09:06 AM
hunter

normal

Sword +5
Blade + 10
Slicer +15

Hard

Breaker +5
Edge +10

that's as far as I've gotten (got distracted with AOL cup) but I can confirm all of those are correct

2-4 gives Rangers a Repeater + 15

(Grind may be off, but I think that its correct)

Pretty sure the third Hard item is Cutter +15, sold it straight after getting it. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Can confirm those force rewards.

As for enemy counts, I havent done any counts, but Ive been doing 2-1 a lot becuase theres loads of Grass Assasins. I'll do a count next run.

4-2 Isnt dark gunners I dont think, theres only like 2 rooms with them, you may be thinking of 4-3. 4-2's only really for dimenians. 4-3 Is that pesky one with lots of Gunners I think. 4-4 Has lots of Chaos Bringers, quite a few Sorcerors too. I'll try do some counts tomorrow if im free.

All the boss stages and 4-1 are just normal monster counts, so no need to worry about them.

Hard, Ranger
Dragon -- Blaster +5
De Rol Le -- Repeater +15

Saffran
May 26, 2005, 11:57 AM
4-2 has gunners in the first and second room IIRC, it takes like 1 minute to clear in normal. Rinse and repeat...

It also has a high number of Delsabers.

4-4 has a high number of everything.

Saffran, thank you for that site.
I listed some more useless data now, and I'm going to put the enemy counts into a doc now (and list them here too).

Quests I don't have enemy counts for yet:
EP2: 5-4, 5-5, 6-4, 6-5, 7-5, 8-3

Hard:

Hunters:
- Breaker + 5
- Edge + 10
- Cutter + 15 I doubt it's Edge, there are only purple photon weapons, why Edge would be here ?

Once again, Tycho, you are incomparable.

Great job thus far.

You get the purple dagger on normal mode (Blade I think it's called). It was extremely useful, my strongest weapon until I got a few hard ruins runs in.

Ultimate, Forces:

5-5: Double Saber 50% Hit
6-5: Brave Hammer 40% Hit
7-5: Mahu 30% Hit

I don't recall if they're ground when you get them or not. Frankly I think the only bit of data that anyone really wants or needs to know is the '50% Hit Double Saber' part. XP

it follows the same format as normal
sword (green)
Blade (purple)
slicer (green)

I couldnt tell you the reasoning behind it but you DO get a really good set of daggers from it, I know, I used them for a long time <3 Blade +10 XD

Pink. Not Purple.

Pinks are: R = B > G
Purples are: R < B > G

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v31/Snapshots/PSOp/pinknotpurple.png

The reason why I comment on this is because I'm supposed to be "R/G color blind", yet over 50% of PSO players mistake Pink for Purple, and Purple for Pink. o.O

Anyway, nice topic of collective information. I would like to ask if anyone knows, for sure, if the Bosses of Episode 1 have increased HP. I noticed Vol Opt was being a bitch. Also, I noticed that the targeting of Lilies has been altered. They are now more difficult to hit with projectiles, which makes Ob Lilies even more of a threat now..

I have not noticed what you say about monsters, Skorpius, but I would not be surprised.

I know for sure Nano Dragon's AI has changed, and he can now aim while charging the laser.

I remember people saying Grass Assassin had better AI, I have not noticed this, maybe Ep2 G-Assassin =/

I've yet to fight Vol Opt with multiple people in Hard, but as for him being a bitch, it did occur to me in Normal, but not much more than the typical Cmode Vol Opt, where he's usually left behind with no attacks and is being damage cancelled all over the place.

But hmm, I haven't played too extensively in online previously to be able to compare the two, so you may be correct. Also possible that maybe they are just more difficult in the Gov quests? Eh... not sure.

I think the targetting might be an issue more with how characters turn now. I have difficulty doing quick turn + blind shooting, whereas previously it was not a problem... had a good amount of experience in that. But, could also be a universal targetting change. For lilies being even more altered, not quite sure on that yet. Could just be they are more influenced by the changes to turning and ranged targetting tweaking in general, if indeed that's what's causing it.

EJ
May 27, 2005, 03:27 AM
You get purple ring on vhard since I did the quest twice and got the ring once after SS rank and then got star the next time.

Since I can't solo ult TTF I have to wait to get a team together to get SS rank which means black ring is the prize for ttf on ult.

The upper targeting area, for me, is ignored and blocks the lower targeting area. My cursor will be around their roots while their petals block my shots.

It's annoying.

The Assassins are Ep2 Assassins. Their AI was altered from the Episode addition anyway, so ignore that. They act like speed demons on Plus, at least, so it's Pre-BB.
Maridia and I also noticed that Wolves tend to connect with thier attacks more often than GC, even while standing still.

You really are colour blind, Skorp. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Also confused about colours, like most of the world - We call many things pink that in actuality are not. 'Pink', to use a strict definition, is merely a tint of red. Red with white added. Many things we call pink are actually tints of violet-reds and red-violets. Some orange-red tints get called pink as well. Many so-called 'pinks' aren't even close to actual 'pink'... Like the one you've presented, which is generally identified as 'hot pink', which is a purple-red mix, and not actually 'pink'.

Regardless of semantics over the definition of pink, you're still mistaken - The RGB code for the majority of the purple on that weapon is 143 71 143, or #8F478F. An even red-blue balance is rather distinctively identified as 'purple', and falls right in the middle of the band of 'purples' on a colour selection bar.

Going into Paint Shop Pro and moving the slider around on the box containing that particular purple, the perfect red/blue balance changes on the very edges where it's not a shade - To be slightly more blue than purple.

So yes, third level weapons ARE purple, which becomes even more obvious if you look at their tekker pictures - Environmental lighting can make them look 'pink', but they are indeed purple.

Here's a large swatch of the colour shown there:

http://www.iankunx.net/purpleswatch.jpg

Very distinctively purple.

And here is the tekker picture for a Buster, saved centuries ago from Housoka:

http://www.iankunx.net/buster.jpg

Though back into semantics, the tekker pictures show a blue violet colour, as the amount of blue is a good 60 values higher than the amount of red. XP

I have never heard of someone getting a drop from either DF nor OF.

On the other hand, both would drop their item in a zone you don't have access to, so it wouldn't bring you anything anyway.

Since the photon on the weapon is closer to #FF69B4 than it is to any hexidecimal color of Purple, then I would say it's PINK. The reason for this is because #FF69B4 is classified as HOT PINK by EVERY Hex Color Chart I could find that labels the colors with names.
Pink, and all shades of it, fall into the "purple" color chart, but anything between Blue and Red do, as well.

- Flying enemies (Nano Dragon, Canadine / Canane / Canabin / Canune, Gee, Zuu / Pazuzu), and Dolphon / Dolphon Eclair are now immune to the freeze condition.

I've frozen Nano Dragon, Canadine, Canane, Canabin, Canune, Gee. Dolphon series has cure/freeze built in. Don't know about zuu/pazuzu.

- Towards the Future on SS rank in Ultimate will still yield a Purple Ring, but doing it in VH will gain you a Black Ring instead. What about Maximum Attack ver2?

SS rank on Very Hard TTF will yield both Purple ring and Black ring. One is for max kills, one is for minimum kills. I haven't done SS rank on Ultimate yet, so no confirmation on those prizes.

- Sattelite Lizard and Youi will turn invisible (no more targetting possible) when hit by guns. Cards and Slicers are still okay.

Card and slicers are NOT ok. Any ranged attack san techs will be nullified when they are attacked from the front. Any attacks from the back of their head work fine with ranged.

Thats all I know off the top of my head. I'll fix more errors later when I find 'em.

Skorp, come back when you stop failing Colour Theory.

Notice where purple is on the colour wheel, while we're at it, directly between red and blue. Not 'More towards blue than red', it's 'dead in the centre'. Equal red and blue. Anything else technically isn't 'true' purple/violet. Technically they're red-violet or blue-violet, tertiary colours.

I know you hate to admit you're wrong, but face it. Third-level weapons are purple. Their tekker pictures prove it, for god's sake.

I'm not arguing. Find purple, and put it into a graphics program. Bottom of the page. The color classified as purple will never reach the RGB values as the weapon, but the color classified as HOT PINK will.

Stop failing logic and read my words. Since every fucking site I have found with labeled hex color charts classifies this color as HOT PINK, then it is PINK.

Now, since I've been proven right, I'll move on so I won't clog this topic up anymore.

Colours in science are not the same as in art.

Colours are also cultural, I've seen people -- from a very different culture -- who call blue what I see as blatant green ~_~

If you think Buster, Cutter, Breaker, Blade, Pillar, Repeater, etc. are pink, then you're really colour blind, or maybeh blind at all http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

These rares look rather obtainable, espically the Photon Crystal. The only problem with how common PCs seem to be is that it's gonna make hit%s that drop on weapons less imporntant than it used to be. Instead of "ZOMG %(Insert high number of hit% here) hit%!!!!!!!!111one", it's gonna be "Wow, this thing has hit%. Guess I don't have to spend as many Photon Crystals or possibly any Photon Crystals on this thing at all". @Quickshot: Hmm, I don't think so. If the droprate of Photon Crystals will be 1/3,33K, and the DAR of Goran Detonator will be about 30%, the DR would be 1/10K. Don't forget you can only get 5 ~ 10 of them per run. Fun, no? I don't think 1000 full Desert runs is all that easy.

Edit: Hmm, maybe I should take into account the Pyro Goran drop. So make that a bit less than 200 runs.

Yowie -- 40% so far, there aren't that many Yowie in the quests available, so it's hard to tell, more research needed.
Astark -- very good, 80% at least, probably more
Zu -- excellent, about 90%
Sand Rappy -- 100%, have not seen a single Rappy not drop.
Dorphon -- 80% so far, but same problem as Yowie

I'm pretty sure of the DAR except Yowie and Dorphon, so you can edit the rates on your charts, Tycho, so it reflects reality a bit more, especially for people hunting Yunchang.

I would not be surprised if Ze Boota had a 15% DAR, our new Melqueek.
That aslo explains why Ba Boota, despite being stonger, always drops worse items.

Lemme repeat that this is for Normal and Hard >_>

I figured out the Sand Rappy one, yeah. Pretty hard to not notice it. >_>;
But are you sure you killed enough to be able to know these numbers are accurate? :o

EDIT: By the way, is the box DAR still the same?

No, but I'm sure I'm not very far, if not right, and changing your charts according to those numbers will reflect the real drop rates a lot more than what they do now =P

By the way, is the box DAR still the same?So far, yes.

Sacred Duster drops from Goran, in all difficulties, only during this week.

The first time Goran gets a rare drop it's temporary? That's... STupid? >_>

Well Kef,

You got me all excited about that Yunchang Yellowboze drop then you had to post that crappy ze boota drop rate - now I'm depressed again.

Man, I want some of those quests - look at all those ze bootas in that one and Astarks - wow.

Let me know if you want to help me find that Yunchang in exchange for the Yukasani Magatama. Well, one can dream anyway.

Extreme Warfire 2 in Hard is all you need... I wonder about the new quests, though. (EW 3, 4, 5, and Ep4 Mop Up 1 and 2)

Is it me, or the rare ennemy appearance varies greatly between difficulties? I'm at 65*13 Rappies and no Del yet. The week ain't gonna last forever, ST!

BTW, is there a count for the Team Quest? I've just bought it and it looks really cool for Dorphon hunting...

Axel has a question....where do the wilds and desert come into play in Episode 4?

*Slight Spoiler*

It seems to me that from 9-4, we just go into the hole after Leo Grahart and Rupika and kick some viper ass. But I know theres 4 more government quests. Does that mean that the Desert stage is underground or something? Maybe I dont want this question answered since it may spoil the plot. X|

Do you mean you think there are more rare enemies (still infinite, but you know what I mean) in Ultimate, or in Normal?

Deissa did not have them, and I doubt Tancient would do it. x_x

You can hear the Wilds music in Crater Interior, the area you know from 9 - 4. It used to be called Wilds in the Japanese version, but for some reason they changed it.
There is no boss in 9 - 4 or 9 - 5, so... that's why there are some more quests. You may be surprised at the actual plot though, you're a bit off. If you want some additional dialogue, try to clear 9 - 2 and 9 - 3 within 15 minutes (thanks Deissa!).
You remember how Leo and Rupika entered the underground at the end of 9 - 4? Well, the full name of the Desert area is "Underground Desert".

Inversely proportional to the difficulty.

4 runs with my Fonewearl in Normal (100 rappies maybe?)= 2 Del Rappies
60 something runs at the start of 9-4 in Ultimate (that's at least 780 rappies)= 0 Del Rappies.

Of course it's an extreme example, but I have gotten 3 del rappies in Ult ever since ep4 beta was online (which means what? 4 or 5 months), and no other rare ennemies, and I DO play my fair share.

I'm guessing it's like 1/64 on Normal, 1/128 for Hard, 1/256 for Very Hard, and 1/512 (maybe less?) in Ultimate.

To any poster waltzing in: the above is based on my lack of luck. I do not care for server data and hacked reverse computing and whatnots. You could prove me wrong with concrete evidence, I'll still abide by those figures, because I am the worse asshole of the lot, so thanks in advance for not arguing those.

Hmm, sounds interesting. I don't really know since I haven't encountered rare enemies in US EP4 yet at all.
But if that really is true, I think I know where we'll be hunting Photon Crystals and Ophelie/Vivienne/Guren/ H/Abil. >_>

NOTE: This is for Very Hard.

I'll list the exact percent I got, rounded down, to respect how PSO works.

Boota -- 29%, no real change
Ze Boota -- 23%, I might have been lucky
Ba Boota -- 44%
Satellite Lizard -- 31%, baaaaaad
Yowie -- 33%, such a useless monster
Astark -- 79%
Zu -- 73%, I may have been unlucky, or the DAR is 20% lower than in Hard
Sand Rappy -- 100%
Dorphon -- 85%

Again, I may update.
