I've been reading alot about people that have a problem with supposed "dark rooms" not turning dark, or air effects in the caves tht give a red or purple tinti never happening. I just want to take a poll on how many people actually see the "dark" effect and how many people do not.

is this a perticular dark room or all of them in general?

I know a few people who do not have the dark room affect them in the Gideon's quest. Another interesting bug of note is the pop up 'cannons' that you see in mines, 3-2 especially. Sometimes they will shoot at you, other times they will pop up and down and not do anything special.

I see nothing when I enter a dark room.

I don't think the traps in 3-2 are bugged. When timer starts, everything goes haywire. The ones that don't shoot are there to scare/distract you.

when I mean a "dark room" I mean the darkness effect in general, so that applies for any room that might go dark when anyone else except me would walk into. I can still tell when I walk into a dark room only because I see a useless switch that is still red.

I figure this would be classified as a fog effect?

I've done it twice in a row. Some traps that didn't shoot the first time started shooting techs the second time.

By 'some' I mean ALL.

Someone pointed out that it might be a fog effect, which raises the question, what video card are you using?

ATI 9600 PRO Atlantis = dark room.

Lighting actually http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif Though it could be done with fog, it's much better to just change the ambient light level from a technical PoV.

I occasionally run into this bug. It's only happened once in PSO BB for me.

I used to have that on JP PSOBB. Never once saw a dark room. I usually get dark rooms on US BB, but sometimes they're not dark.

What I don't seem to get on US BB is shadows. There's just a whole lot of nothing under mine and everyone else's characters. XP

If it's bugged then it won't be random like that. Best to ask adamgnome, I think he's on to something here.
