View Full Version : Section ID Problem

Okay I've done this a few times and looked around for people with similar issues, but I haven't found any.

With my FOnewm I went for Pinkal, but it gave me anything BUT. I used the Sec ID calculator here, then did the numbers by hand, and when it should have been Pinkal, it came out as Oran. I used that data to add a few spaces and an exclamation point to my name to get Pinkal, but the mystery of why it was wrong remained.

Today I'm helping a fledgling force try to get Pinkal, but he got Viridia when he should have gotten Pinkal. Using the same theory we did last time, he got Whitill instead. Is something the matter with the guide, or the calc? I have gone over the math several times.

PSOBB changed it. Other posters have a calc link handy. That one will only work for Gamecube/Xbox.

That explains a lot. Thank you very much.

Heh, on changing the way the section ID's are procured, they forgot to change them on the NPC's. Look at KIREEK. He should be VIRIDIA not BLUEFULL as his emblem suggests.

Silly sonic team...

Personally I think it was a bit dumb to change the ID formula in the first place. What does that do other than annoy people who make their character and realize, "Oh crap, I'm not Skyly!" or whatever? >_>

Actually, any Unicode characters. I've tested Arabic and Russian myself. It makes things more... "internationalized" I suppose. I don't see a problem with it, allows more originality in the names methinks.

In reguards to a calculator I find this one much more accurate.

I don't see the difference between this one and the one already posted above. Toying with both of them I get the same results. How is *this* one more accurate?

If you name him Warbot 3780 or Death Lord it should be a pinkal.
