Sounds like it might be out of sync. The lenses on various disk reading devices occasionally go out of sync. When this happens it can cause mis-reads and failure to read at all. I am sure there are people you can talk to who would know how to check. And if not, read up on it on the internet, or best of all, to a repair specialist in your area. It can be caused by a number of things including just plain everyday use. I would say how to re-sync it however I don't want to be blamed for forgetting a step or not being clear enough that it causes more problems. I wouldn't feel right if my instructions caused damage.

well dude, maybe this is gods way of telling u that u should invest in a xbox! *hides sweaty wade of cash given by microsoft to shamelessly plug their console*.

like these guys said try giving the lense a good cleaning, or even ur disks http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif. but don't lick them clean. Bad idea.

even still, buying a new one might be cheaper that getting it fixed or buying new parts. dam, when i think about it last time i was in a game shop they where selling second hand gamecubes for £40, about $73, and over here thats about the same price as a new game.

If ur confident enough doing it, maybe you should try opening your gc and fiddling about inside to see if theres any wires or pieces that need attention.

i lost track of the amount of times i had to crack open my dreamcast..

PEACE!!!

Yes, about 2-3 weeks ago my gamecube broke. The scanner thingy doesn't even reads. I was gonna get it fixed but I think I'll just buy a new one.(I had it ever since the gamecube first came out)( If you fix it(which I think'll cost around 50) you'll be out of a lot of money for once you fix something it tends to need to be fixed a lot.

Anyways just buy a new one their only $100 dollars. Just think of it like this, you'll get another controller.

How dare you! Black is the best Nintendo color! Indigo is argued to be blue, when it's PURPLE!
