Fun. It was fun to actually play online again. Even if there's a time limit, and only Forest is available.

I wasn't used to the control scheme. I didn't figure out what other keys to use (besides movement, basic (low) attack, and menu), so I died a lot. Heh.

Everything looked real sharp on the PC. The environments weren't really improved too much. But the character models looked nice.

And it downloaded in under half an hour. All 84MB.

What are the requirements to play it? Although I'm sure my crappy PC can't handle it.

Did you try the front page? (http://www.4gamer.net/files/demo/PSOn-setup.exe)

Yeah, I used the link on the front page of PSO World.

I don't know the system requirements, really.
I was using a 800MHz PIII, 256MB PC133 SDRAM, 32MB nVidia TNT2 AGP graphics card. There was some slowdown at times, likely from my graphics card, but it wasn't really bad.

Less than half an hour? What speed modem did you use?

We've got DSL. I think my download was getting 40+ KB/s (according to the download box in IE). It may not have been exactly under a half hour, but it wasn't long.

It needs more than 1.2 GB of drive space, too.

Heh. Yeah, Kazaa can be terrible for that. Happens to me all the time, though I don't use it all that often.

For those of you planning on DLing this on a 56k... don't. It's an exact copy of the DC original with nothing new at all... The control system is extremely frustrating (especially for RAmars like me) and if you had your DC connected via S-Video (like I did) you won't see a big difference in sharpness.

Even though the stupid 30min time limit and no saving and only forest, it felt good to talk to some my old friends of PSO on therre though, it made me buy a hunters licence for the DC v2 hee hee, But I still cant wait for the GameCube versions of PSO! ohhhh oops a little accident in my pants! lol jk

Quick ?
How many lobbies/ships are there if at all?
Or if there are no lobbies, how do you meet up with people?

over 10 hours to download on my 56k modem...
as far as PC specs go i wouldn't worry... my crappy P2 450 with 128mb ram runs it perfectly.. althought my GeForce2 may have something to do with that. overall though i would recomend not downloading it if you already have the DC version as someone has already rightly stated.

I tried the trial briefly. If you don't have a decent controller, it's not a fun experience. I have a Thrustmaster Dual Force pad (very PSX-ish) and it worked just peachy.

The PSO V2 characters are all available (NOT NOT EP1/2 CHARS) but it doesn't save them.. and it's time-limited. Throws ya off after several minutes. There is one Trial ship available, with three lobbies.

As usual, the game runs in a very low res.. 640x480 or 800x600 (I can't tell), and can't be changed. Text fonts look kinda weak. On a 21" monitor, it actually looks kinda bad, and FSAA won't help.

I'm still wondering why they released this, as the full version has been available in Asian markets for months.

I enjoy the trial. Since I could never get online, It's a blast. How many of you have soloed the dragon? I did it online, boy that was hard. I'm usualy on as Davion or +Davion, so if you see me say hi. I'd love to meet some of you guys in the lobby. And one last thing, I've been sending guys who are new to PSO to PSOW, I suggest you guys do the same.

It's pretty fun since I don't have a DC now, maybe I'll see you guys on it.
