In the PSO GC so far. New lobbies/characters/weapon remodeling/levels/enemies, and more. I really do like it, while some of you are just SEARCHING for something in the game that'll be similar to v2. "OMG, there's a boss that looks like De Rol! This sucks!" or "OMG! There isn't a HUnewm in the game!"...stop your crying. You're going to buy the game anyway....just shut the f*ck up. This is going to be a great game, despite anything they may have brought back from v2. I, along with many others will enjoy it regardless. v1 had most of us indoors anyway! Hearing and seeing the pictures of what's to be added has actually brought back my urge to game again... it's kind of like giving an aging man Viagra for his first time...lol! If you're going to complain so much, don't buy the game. Simple. Stop looking for faults and just enjoy the f*cking game.

Thank you and drive through.

Totally agree. I was expecting just a tidied up V2.0, with splitscreen, the new characters, and a few extra weapons/mags. Which I would still have enjoyed, cos of getting a Golden Age of no cheating again.

As soon as they announced Episode II it turned into my #1 wanted game. I don't think anyone expected Sonic Team to put this much extra stuff into it. And each week we keep learning about even more things in it! Can't wait.

And I have a feeling there is still a surprise or 2 left ... http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

People don't like PSO on PSO-World?
Amazing, well maybe not.

Even if they associate it with the old, it's still New.

Slightly new is still new.
Sonic team took this concept to the max with Ultimate mode monsters. "New monsters" were introduced technically but they fought the same other than the bosses who had new attacks.

"Biters" and "haters" just like attention I guess so ignore them.

PSO GC is new. Don't make a fuss about "how new" it is since most of us can't change it in any way, shape, or form and will have to play the game before liking/disliking it.

In their defense, they're as bored as the rest of us, I imagine. May as well discuss something in the meantime.

If PSO was releasing on its previous release date, a lot of us would be playing this coming evening.

*sigh*

Are they bored because the release date for PSO is far off, or can they not do anything new in the current game? still when the new version gets here hopefully it should keep us all busy!!

People don't post there pso ideas because there disatisfied with the game. Its only while they're not able to play the game, and while the game is still in development, that they like to voice there oipinions on what the game should be like. Obviously the new games good, but you have to admit that it would be better if the hunewm for example existed, even if only marginally. People are not criticsing the actual game but the potential game, since they do not actually own it yet.

Although I agree entirely with haterade about people who constantly put down EpI&II and don't contribute anything constructive, I don't see a problem with discussing what they'd like to have seen in the game.

Surely the best way to develop games is to listen to the public and to what they want? If we remain silent on the subject then the developers have no outside input and are simply designing the games they think we'll like as opposed to ones they know we'll like.

But they are the programmers, even if everybody asked for a HUnewm, that will make the game worst, putting more hunters than others... well this is only 1 example

HarleyQuinn
Aug 8, 2002, 09:21 AM
Yep, developers use discussions as a guide to what people want in a game and implement the better suggestions. It would be impossible to add everything everyone wanted and would unbalance the gameplay, such as having more Hunters than other characters, as you pointed out.

Just playing devil's advocate for a few seconds: the fact that the Griffon is very similar to Dragon and that the second boss has all the physical attributes of a De Rol clone, it makes one feel a bit... well, I suppose gypped is the best way to put it. We all had our hopes up about all-new stuff, and the Episode II stuff turns out to be real similar to the stuff we already have.

However, that's not to say that you don't have a point, Haterade. Ep I&II is at its barest still an addition to V2, which is a great game in and of itself. And even if it isn't all-new, the material we're getting (on top of what we're getting again) is still new in some way. So it's still going to be fun.

And for me, Ep I&II is going to be way better than V2 in that I'll actually get to play online with you all. ^_^

Yeah, it's kind of dissapointing to see that some of the "new bosses" just turn out to be slightly revamped versions of previously existing bosses from Episode 1. I mean Gar Griffon > Dragon, Balberei > De Rol Le . . . . >:l

I even read somewhere that the final Episode 2 boss will have 2-3 different forms on Normal & Hard, and only on Vhard/Ultimate will you be able to fight the "final form". Basically same thing as Dark Falz in Ep1 from the sounds of it. Hopefully they'll only be similiar when you break it down like that. I wish they tried something like, say, in Outer Space, with different physics, obstacles, etc.

meh..

I too was dissapointed at the reused bosses... But at least we get new levels, new weapons and new classes. I'm still hoping they change Dark Falz though (I'm not a big PS buff but doesn't he change the way he looks ever 100 years or something?). It's to be expected though as they are basically trying to pry some extra funds from a new audience (GC, XB) before they move on to brand spakin new stuff for the true sequel PSO2 (XB).

So um the Griffon is just like the Dragon because it has wings? If I'm not mistaken, the griffon doesn't have one single attack like the dragon.

And as for the other boss. You've seen one damn pic of it! At least wait to see a few more first.

hey in ver2 I needed to learn the new patterns of the revamped bosses in order to defeat them.

And these from episode 2 look a lot more different than the difference between normal and ult bosses.

A point of a new boss is a new pattern to defeat them, not if looks like a butterfly or a worm

Looking for something similar to V2? The whole thing is, with a new skin.

The one thing Ep2 has is the new, utterly incredible levels. THEY are amazing yes.

Everything else?
List all the things you wanted fixed in V2. MST balance, weapons variety past V Hard, stats re-assessed, smoother rares-curve, etc.

Now tell me where this stuff has been addressed. They are hyping us with.. hype. The new lobbies will not make the game, nor P2, or any of that. Animations, weapon graphics, whatever. We all know that.. but this is all the hype has addressed.

I'm looking for what isn't V2 again, other than the new levels. I want some hype that addresses gameplay.

Th bottom line is that PSO Epsode 1 and 2 for GC is going to be great. When I first heard of it, I thoguht it was going to be a port. I would have bought it anyway, but now the word "port" is an insult to GC PSO.

I'll admit that when plans of PSO Ep1&2 were first made public at around this time last year, I thought to myself that I'd have no part in it. It looked like just a port of v2, only with 2 new classes. But after hearing more about it over the months, I became more and more interested. I say bring on the new bosses, and rare weapons. COME ON SEPTEMBER, HURRY UP AND GET HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally Iam really looking foward to the game. Orginally I figured it would just have maybe 1~2 new stages a few new weapons and those new classes. But ST has really added far more then I expected, and has made balance changes.

I really can't see how a person can complain considering the many changes EP1&2 has versus ver2.

Even better if you never played ver2.

The problem I'm getting from myself, and what I see of others, is will this game keep it's value like the predecessor.

Take Dead or Alive 2, and Dead or Alive 3.

Anyone who knows me, know I live and die for this series. I love nearly everything about it. When DOA2 came out, it had tiers you could get knoked off of. Tag teams and tag team moves. Wonderfull levels. I'd spend weeks learning the timing and range of each character. The comboing "hot-spots" in certain levels. Between the US Dreamcast release, and JP Dreamcast Limited Ed., I must have played this game forever(Can't think of a relative timeline, perhaps a year plus?) The game kept my interest a very long time.

Then DOA3 comes out. New console. Argueably the best graphics ever. New levels, new, and honed controls, more characters, and new things to learn. But how long did I play this? Possibly 4 months. Even tho it is better than DOA2, it couldn't hold my interest for half as long. Even a booster disc of new outfits couldn't get me to start playing it again. And I KNOW I'm not the only one who feels this way, because of the internet folowing of DOA3, dosen't come close to what DOA2 had(and you still find new things about DOA2 on some sites)

I KNOW PSO EpsI/II is going to be WONDERFULL. I know I'll have fun with it.

But will I play it every night for 7 months like I did PSOv1&v2? We're going to find out... Someday http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

I see some people ask for a new PSO.
Bu we know PSO for gc started as a port with 4 player offline, and I was going to buy it, because it was PSO in a alive system. Now has a big number of additions that will make play PSO in GC very sweet http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

RavenTW

I expected GC PSO to be normal with 3 new classes, a couple new stages, and offline multiplayer, basically a "Version 3". When I learned of all the other upgrades, it instantaniously became one of my most wanted games, and was what I needed to get GC, as it also had SSBM and Metroid P.

People are really just talking about what they want. Sure, it might seem that we aren't content, but we are really thinking of the future. Who knows? Maybe one day, an ST producer will come around, and look at one of our posts about what we would like, and pass it along...

I don't think the people were really trying to convince everyone that Ep I&II was bad, they were just saying how they were disappointed with some of the similarities. I personally don't think it is too similar, but I never got v2 so it will be a huge step for me. Can't wait http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif
