*Prepares himself to be trampled by the fans*

And since we're going to be in Toledo Ohio, I better get some bullet-proof clothing too. =/

But on a more serious note, I'm actually kinda excited. I've heard good things about this new book, and am looking forward to wasting my saturday reading it.

More news once I return.

If you must read that drivel, at least get it from the library rather than wasting your money. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Though I agree with library approach, this series seems like one of those things that has to be bought; not for any type of social/entertainment benefit, but just to have.

I got the 5th one from my Uncle because he ended up receiving two. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

Maybe that'll happen again... oohhh~ Spooky...

Wait... No it's not. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

I don't understand all the hype about this book. I mean, we got it in at work...and what do i get? The managers bring a notice to every till in the store saying that we MUST phone them if someone brings that book to the counter. Also, the lockups we use for our expensive electronics were invaded to guard the book...now all our valuables are sitting out for the taking -- and what do people do? Let's see...a 20" LCD TV that costed about 700 bucks walked out along side a PSP. How? Well i don't know, seeing as there was an armed guard sitting there next to our stuff while he was guarding the damned books.

Er....ahaha..yeah..i'm not too happy about this book.

They make awesome pants there in Toledo! :>

I am gonna pick it up tomorrow morning before work. :> Then no sleep and finish reading it. Or something.

Meh. The series has been getting steadily worse, but I keep reading them. I've got the book now, but all I've done is read a sentence or two off the inside flap of the front cover and already I'm dreading reading this.

Rowling has to stop getting so caught up in trying to force excitement into the books and stop betraying her own characters and world.

When the first book came out i liked it. It wasn't my fav story but the whole concept was good. Kids going to school to learn magic.(A part of me wished i could go to that school)

The series doesn't strike me as a masterpiece must have but i like how the news is showing it and showing all the kids having fun reading the book. With all the grown up activities going on in the world its nice to let the kids have fun and relax.

Kids only go to school for 180 days out of the year, which leaves them a lot more time to have fun and relax than people engaged in "grown up activities".

No, I'm just saying that its nice to focus on kids for once in the news than just adults.

We got owned.

Arrived at Barnes & Noble around 11:15-11:30. Watched some Emos, browsed the music selection and waited for our "color" to be called so we could get our books. (Red went first, then Lime Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Green then several others.)

While waiting for our color to get called (we were green) my sister and I browsed the Manga section, listened to people brag about how they know all about the JP culture so they are cool. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

We got our book about 12:54.

Got home around 1:07 stayed up and read till a little after 2:40 a.m. Went to bed, didn't wake up till around 1:00 p.m. =/

I was shocked I had let myself sleep so late. -_-

Anyway, the book isn't as great as I was expecting it to be, (Course, I'm not very far in it, as I was reading while half asleep, I tend to go slower. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif )

I sure wish I could like reading books. But for some reason, it's boring trying to figure out what the hell is the writing thinking.

I finshed it 42 minutes ago. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

The ending almost made me cry. Great book, but ToH I'm warning you:

1. There is a great, GREAT loss http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_cry.gif

2. The half-blood prince is NOT who you think he is.

boo on warnings. better to keep one's mouth shut than give warnings unasked for, lest ye give something away that can be figured out by assumption.

Kinda already finished. >_>;

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

*YOU'VE BEEN WARNED*

I found the last few chapters written pretty well. Remined me of a book I once read (title has slipped my mind), written with the same passion and same magic.

Example: It's quite obvious who the person is that dies. (Simply by looking at the chapter names and piecing everything together)

Even though, as the reader you KNOW who the person is, you still long for them to live, and perhaps the second time you read through; it just might be different. Which is key to making a death of an important character actually mean something to the reader. *Hopes that made sense*

I look forward to finishing the series.

Same here. Actually, I think I lost my copy a while back, and along with that one I need to rebuy basically all of them (I had an accident with a pop can like 2 years ago http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif).

Oh well, I'll probably end up realizing sometime later that the series is decent overall and buy/read them again http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif.

True. But it isn't like she deliberately put those politics in out of nowhere. The story sort of require it. And really it has always existed, but due to Harry et al are getting older and hence seeing more of it and understanding more of it is natural?

Well, she kinda did, didn't she? :>
That was I think one of the things that made the story very convincing, to me anyway. That I'd imagine in crisis, this could really happen depending on who is in power. They could really choose to pretend that doesn't exist, or enforce security to the max until they become paranoid.

The one thing I really like about the series is just exactly how UGLY people can become at times. Nobody really is perfect. But everyone can get ugly, all it matter is whether or not your heart is in the right places. One wrong, or a hundred wrong, doesn't make it all wrong, and vice versa.
