Why does this gun have to be in every video game, movie and TV show??? Sure it is cool at first, but I got a few problems with it.

I cringe whenever I see it in a movie or when people say "I WANT DOUBLE DEAGLES!!!!!"

The thing is massive, has a small magazine, is over-powered, and heavy. I couldn't dream of firing 2 of them in its special .50 cal.

I just needed to let this out, the gun is overused and as for practicality? Blah.

James Bond did miracles with his PPK.

Simple. It's big. Movies don't care about reality when it comes to guns.

Little women firing the handguns you just mentioned with little effort, people blowing heads off with low calibur weapons from a far distance. Then there's the revolvers that can shoot more than 12 shots in a row without reloading! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

It's just something we have to deal with, sadly. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Hand me a five-seven or USP and i'm all set to go. I think a Deagle is an ugly weapon anyways. BUT HEY, who cares if you look sexy while blowing people away?

...ok, Hollywood.

In Socom it's an innacurate piece of shit past 20 feet.

Reminds me I love Socom.

Desert Eagles (NightHawk in CS) aren't so bad. They're just overrated. What with the small clip, large bullets and longer barrel. A friend of mine told me that when actually firing a real one you have to aim down a tiny bit because the recoil occurs before the bullet leaves the barrel.

Anyway, it's a decent pistol if you're accurate but for those long gunfights it's just better to pack a USP or a Glock 18.

Yeah blame hollywood. Wasn't Clint Eastwood famous for this gun or something? I'm not a gun expert. I've fired some, but I dunno what I fired. Remembering firing one and I fell backwards from the recoil (of course I was a younging back then)

glocks just dont suit me.. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

But hell, hand me a .45 cal 1911 and I'm set to go.

the d eagle is hardly practical, cant easily conceal it(as a carry piece), fucking kill your hand to fire through several magazines, and the amount spent on cartridges for those several magazines could feed your family for a week. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wacko.gif

So to anyone who knows a thing or two about firearms, the gun is just ridiculous. But to the rest of the billions of people out there, its a badass gun that looks impressive in action. Who cares about the actual statistics behind it all ._.;

Edit: I've used a PPk of sorts, its a small and painfull to fire for long periods of time. Fairly accurate, but I cant imagine doing much damage with it. http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_mad.gif

Exactly. As long as it looks cool they don't care.

the Deagle is a great gun in cs its gets the job done fast but in real life of course its a peice of crap

I also love how Hollywood portrays the minigun. Jesse Ventura and Arnie can apparently withstand the massive recoil that comes from firing thousands of rounds per minute when the gun isn't fixed.

I guess if you look passed the wall jumping, bullet dodging, people that come back to life after being shot in a machine created reality for the purpose of sustaining humans used as a power source by said machines.

Well this became a crappy topic.

The Desert Eagle isn't crappy, it's just too much. It's gas operated, a gas operated pistol is just dumb.

For pistols, you want a good one, get a CZ.

I had a CZ75 for a few years-- had to pawn it off for money though. I got to fire it a few times and I enjoyed it. I still say nothing beats a SIG P228! http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

On the topic of how Hollywood butchers proper firearm use, I can't stand how in movies that strive to be "realistic", people still shoot their guns sideways. It's pretty cool to see it in some movies, but movies that are trying to be as realistic as possible? Jeez. Maybe I'm just OCD.
