I recently recieved my newest issue of Game Informer in the mail and started reading some of the articles. For those who are familiar with GI, they have a section called The Good, The Bad, The Ugly. August's edition was no exception when it comes to recent Video Game-related headlines...

Aside from the SAG and AFTRA controversy, Legal action in Japan, PSP pr0n, video game-related murders, World of Warcraft expansion packs, and Halo: The Movie, The final little bit of news was, what else(?), classified as Ugly...

This is what it said...

A European study found that a majority of parents are aware of video game ratings, but "divorce themselves" from deicding what their children play, even though the parents don't like what games they buy. Great to know hypocrisy rules the angry mob.

Indeed it does... http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif

Did'nt we already know this though?

I mean, you can put a warning label on anything and everything, and obviously if it gets used improperly, it's your own fault.

If I gave a toy that has a choking hazard warning on it to a kid, it's my fault if they choke because I read the warning label, and I used my poor judgement and gave it to them anyway.

Yeah, sounds about right. I like how the BBFC labels in the UK have gotten nearly 3 times bigger and the parents still ignore them.

Wish you could say to parents "Would you buy your kids porn and Violent movies? No? Well Dont Buy Them 18 Rated Games!".

I say go for it unless there is some sort of law that forbids you to do so...

Abdur, yes, we have known about this. However, this is one of those rare occasions, if not the first time, where the parents/guardians ACTUALLY admit to it. What they are also saying then is that they don't want to improve their parenting skills due to the reasons they gave regarding the games http://pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_disapprove.gif
