are merges any good at all? i have a foie merge but my plasma barrier is better which should i equip?

no, merges arent good. they're awful as shields.
you should read their descriptions, then you'd see that they boost the named tech's power.

i very much like them on FOne...

they are useful on most fo's and i know some people that use foie merges on RAml, Hune when they fight dark falz' final form...

as for shield...never!
